The only store that I consider buying the store brand is SuperTarget (they have the grocery stores). The Archer Farms or Market Pantry items are just as good (if not oftentimes better) than their name brand counterparts.

A lot of times I buy the store brand. Most of the time they are the same. That is not true of every product. I would recommend buying the store brand and see what its like, you can really save alot of money.

It's always a good idea to buy store brands, especially if you're strapped for cash, but not everything will be the same. The only way to know for sure is to buy a small portion (if possible) of the store brand. This way you know the next time you go shopping what you can save money on and what to splurge on.

It depends on what it is. Sometimes the store brand is crap, for example, there's no way that the Walmart brand of mayo is as good as Kraft. I found that out the hard way. On the other hand, the Kroger brands are usually very high quality. I think it just depends on what you are willing to skimp on... at times, you get what you pay for. One item I never skimp on is coffee, it's gotta be Maxwell House.

I agree with Pale Cheeked Angel, I love Target and i buy Market Pantry items all the time and they taste just as good and sometimes better that the name brand stuff. However, there are certain items that have to be name brand such as oil (Crisco, Wesson)

It all depends. Like food, that's iffy. Crackers, some cookies and some other items can be no-name or generic. But toilet paper must be name-brand for sure.
