re-applying for Green card?

Could my application be rejected if I previuosly held a green card? Im married to a US citizen, and let me green card expire as I was working abroad. Do I go through my local embassy to re-apply? How long does it take?

If you stayed out of the US for more than a year without a re-entry permit, your residency has expired. You will need to immigrate all over again, from the beginning, with your wife petitioning for you.
