Having breeding parents eyes tested is a test I need to do I know most vets can not certify them. I would like some info about it. What are they testing for? How often is the test done? I would like to be educated about the test I do.

An actual opthomologist has to certify the eyes. It is done through CERF. It has to be done EVERY YEAR!!!! The dilate the eyes with drops and examine the eyes and are looking for any abnormalitiy. There are MANY diseases of the eye that are passed on to puppies. PRA is the most common. It is Progressive Retinal Atrophy. It will cause blindness. The disease sometimes does not show up right away, and that is why CERF will only certify the eyes for a year.
Contacting a local kennel club is a way to find a CERF cilinic. Many dog shows will have a clinic and it is cheaper than going to an opthomologist on your own.

The test is done once per year and it is a CERF test.
You have someone who is trained to do it perfomr the test and they fill out the paperwork for you to get your certificate.
Check out www.vmdb.org
They have the information on where to go to get the testing done.
