When you don't eat, even for 8 hours, your body goes into "starvation mode", it quickly grabs every last bit of fat, and holds on tight. You will first burn off everything currently floating through your system, then any left over food not being used by your body left over in your stomach waiting to be excreted through your bowels, then lastly your body will seek out glucose from your brain, which brings on those headaches commonly associated with not eating, "hypoglycemia", and the shakes and trembling most often felt in the arms and extremities. If you keep this up for one whole day, your body starts to look for stored glucose anywhere, including your vital organs like the kidneys. No water and no food for one whole day is certainly not healthy, it's very dangerous. Prolonged abuse to the body in this way, will cause organ disfunction and can have permanent affects.

Losing weight is better done through a high consumption of water. When your body is constantly quenched with water, fat and junk from the food you eat, has no where else to go but slide straight through you and out into the toilet. As crazy as it sounds, the LESS water you drink the more water your body retains and the more you will weigh. On the flip side, the more water you drink the more toxins are released and washed through your body, without a chance to grab on somewhere inside an atery, or stick to a cellulite cluster, and the more weight you will lose. Also you can eat that burger with cheese once in a while not feeling bad, because the low amount of saturated fat in that slice of cheese will wash straight through a highly hydrated body. So DRINK water if you are looking for a ONE DAY MIRACLE, but don't forget to EAT food too. To see results, you must do this for a few days in a row.

What you will do is slow your metabolism down and you won't lose weight that way unless you starve yourself continually for several weeks. You should eat a healthy breakfast, medium sized healthy lunch and small dinner and don't snack after about 6pm. Any exercise, even just a walk outside is good. But not eating is the completely wrong thing to do! When you do eat, make healthy choices. Also, drink lots of water. Energy drinks are loaded with sugar and caffeine, stay away from them and soda is loaded with sugar also.

I have learnt about this in school. If you don't eat for a day, you'll end up eating much more in the next few days. Your body reacts this way and you actually have more chances of gaining weight.

That depends on your metabolism. It varies from person to person. It is possible you won't see any weight loss but don't be discouraged. Whatever you do, do sensibly.
