To sum it up in a nutshell, it really boils down to what kind of example parent's set, what's being taught at home, and the media.
So with that said, if we have such extreme rates of "children having children" who lack education and experience in child-rearing and have no problem dumping their children to wherever and whomever, then that in itself is pretty predictable in what kind of an example they set as parents and the poor home environment they provide, and they receive the wrong message about how to behave and how to treat others. Finally with the media (celebrities, music videos, etc.), the it's "cool to be hardcore and use profanity" image, to degrade certain genders or gender preferences is such an easy outlet to children who don't have any positive role models that they can identify with.
A child who doesn't really have a decent parent(s) example(s) and a poor home environment is easily opt to conform their own behaviours (i.e. using profanity) to what the media is portraying as "cool" and "attractive" over etiqutte, how you should treat people, and are very unaware of the Golden Rule.
I know this. I see it everyday.

I work in a high school, and I can tell you that the teachers and administrators are scared of saying anything. I can walk down the hall in a passing period and hear so many swear words and people actually threatning each other that it makes me sick, and all the teachers do is walk on by as if nothing happened. I would say something, but I am not in an authority position to do so, as I don;t work with the regular education population.

I thnk the use of profanity is more accepted nowadays, but still "taboo". So to be 'different', people use it. To act semi-original or to make a bigger, edgier statement.
I think we should all use more profanity and overuse it. The more we use it the less power it will have. Although with that means something else will have to take its place in terms of being semi-original. ;-)

Because kids think its cool to cuss.. I used to alot also..but i listened to other women cussing and realized it does not sound good coming from a woman or anyone else really..I think some people have accepted it as a normal thing to say.. Comes also from environment you grew up in.. it will take alot of change in society to stop and that's never gonna happen...It is up to the parents to instill values to their children and even then its not a guarantee

It goes hand in hand with the lack of respect that is so out of hand. Look at TV, most shows aimed at youth are centered around a smart a** kid. It is made out to be funny and cute.

It's the lack of intelligence and respect. We need to have our school systems and parents teach our children that it's not cool to talk like that and that we need to teach them to use the power of the mind. When someone says "f*** you" they are just frustrated because they don't have anything creative to say back.

I think its because parents are out eating donuts and dont teach their children good manners. And the music that teenagers listen to sure doesn't help. Its disgracful. My kids would be eating soap all day for the mouths that some of these kids have!!!!

Because it's child abuse to smack them when they swear. Because it's child abuse to wash their mouths out with soap. Because it's been portrayed as a normal every day thing on TV and kids are learning to associate smart alek behavior with cool. It used to be limited to adult shows. Now it's everywhere.
I used to think it was so unfair that my dad forbade Nickelodeon and other such channels, now I'm thankful because I see why he forbade it. He was right. It teaches children to be smart aleks and to hate their parents and it's ok to disrespect your parents, and it's cool to disrespect your parents.

I don't think it's out of hand. I think people were too prim and proper in the past, and where's the fun in that?
