Your cat probably has hairball but do not allow them to come all the way up. My cat does the same thing, he usually just swallows it back down.

my cat has done the same thing since she was a kitten. I really don't know what it is, I think that it's hairballs trying to form in her system. it's real simple to clear up though. for my cat, I buy the Pounce Hairball Remedy treats and give 5 to her once a week or whenever she starts doing that hacking. plus I feed her Purina Indoor Formula Cat Chow, which helps contro hairballs. clears it right up and she never has a problem. Good Luck!! HIH!!

get some hairball medicine. It's a flavored kind of stuff you give them every so often (once a week or so) It helps keep the hairball thing to a minimum. You can get it from your vet and it's not really expensive. I give it to both my cats and they very rarely, if ever have hairballs. I would take her to the vet though just to be sure that's the problem.

This can be a sign of asthma in cats. I lost a cat to it. Here is a site that you might want to read. There is a video that shows a cat having an asthma attack and it looks just like when they try to throw up a hairball. Good luck, and read this before you start giving her lots of hairball remedy.

There may be a hairball stuck in her throat but they don't always come back up, most hairballs are actually digested and come out "the other end". my cat did that a lot and i talked to my vet about it and they gave me a medication for her called "Felaxin". It helps to coat her stomach and she doesn't do it as much anymore!

she cant get the hairball out ...go to pet smart or walmart and for about $3 you can get a tube of beef flavored hairball ointment that you feed them...it will loosen it up and she will be rid of it

I would try a cat food that has the natural hair ball remedy right in there and see if that works. I give that to both of my cats and they have no problems at all.

call your vet and tell them what's going on they might be able to give you some idea about what's going on and they might be able to give you some ideas on what you can do to help.
