Call me old fashioned, but I typically like to establish with a woman that we're in a committed relationship BEFORE having sex. But these days, it seems as if women (and of course men) are willing to have sex, and then decide following that if a relationship will bloom. Is this an accurate assessment?

it depends on the person. i think that knowing how your partner is in bed before marriage is good to know because if the chemistry, isn't there nor being intimate then there no hope. also u gotta think that u have to be with this person for the rest of your life and u want to make sure that u have a life time of pleasure.

It is typical and acceptable to get that out of the way. This does not mean that she is NOT a decent person. Sex is an important part of a relationship. If you are not compatible in this area, the relationship is doomed to peter out, regardless of how nice or sweet or giving you are. If you are not compatible sexually from the beginning, you both have the opportunity to either work on the incompatibility because there are other factors of the relationship that makes it worth working on, or you can choose to get out quickly, because that is the "seal" to the deal. This association of LOVE and SEX is running rampant on Yahoo Answers. It is a travesty.

ok let me answer that, its is best if u find the persons personality t be good and then like them based on their personality but then again y would u want to buy puss in the bag, what if when u have establish a relationship with this girl she turns out to be a man are someone in disguise how will u feel, or the sex might be nothing u expect or not even clost to it what would u do?
But thats the better way to though women will appreciate u like that, i would definately want a a man like u, maybe my cousin could try getting with u she is single right now, atleast i know u would treat her well!

I don't think there it is not acceptable or typical !
People sleep around these days thinking they need sex or it is "cool" to do this but realistically I think it's sick and disgusting!
Please don't even think of compromising yourself or sell short yourself cos it never pays to force yourself to accept something that you don't agree with !
Why compromise? NEVER!
If she is that easy and it makes you uncomfortable, then move on!
There's no right or wrong answer in dating and relationships.

No it is not accurate but as you said most ppl do. I think it is because of the attraction btw both sex, which is 75% of the time base on physical looks. Most would see an attractive mate and automatically think.... sexy lips that i want to kiss, smooth skin that i want to feel. So they have sex and then find out that the inner self is not as attractive.
But you are probably one of the 25% who is initially attracted to the inner self; thus you who want to establish that this person is actually my type, and if she is bad in bed, that can be fixed
