Seems likely that they were embaressed by the old unicorn in the closet and decided -
'No, we, uhhh...mistranslated that! It was an ox all along'.

Funny how that works.

If it was just mistranslated, then what else has been mistranslated?

Why would god who is so powerful and omnipotent choose to reveal his wonderful message in such a haphazzard (and Unicorn filled) way?

cvq3842 - That has to be the dumbest statement I've ever heard on here. I shouldn't have off on MLK day because he was a christian?

The original text comes from the Torah (Hebrew Scriptures) it states wild ox. Christians have mistranslated a lot of the Jewish Scriptures. Not all by accident either.

There is a specific breed of goat with one horn, still exists today. It is sometimes referred to as a unicorn. Also, in your earlier question, your Job references were wrong, it was describing two things, the Leviathan and the Behemoth, one which lives in water the other ones limbs neck and tail compared to trees. Nothing like a traditional unicorn, ne?

God was using the unicorn as a symbol for strength, same thing with the ox, but more "acceptable" to some aethiests.

What is your obsession with Unicorns man?! This is like the 3rd question in 30 mins.

Just face it, Christians are pot-committed and the bible is their hole card, since none of it's real they can change that 2 of hearts to an Ace of spades anytime they want.

or it could be that someone wanting to believe in unicorns translated it away from the animal that would have been familiar to people who lived at that time -- an ox

God's word also tells us to beware of the false prophet. Another aspect of the wonderful gift of free will that he has so graciously given us. Jehovah is a loving and kind God, His Word, The Bible is not here to confuse us, but it is misinterpreted by many false prophets.
If it is lost in translation it is HUMAN ERROR not Jehovah.

I'm sure it was before people stopped being obsessed with their hatred of and harrasment of Christians, because that continues to this day.

I assume you don't take the third Monday in January off, if you hate Christians so much.

If there was a message, it was lost in translation. Christians have that thing, where if they do not like something, then it is evil. If they are 100% proven wrong, and numbers decline, they blame someone (translators), or form new sects.

Exactly.. the bible has been changed SO many times over the years to suit whomever.

I'm not saying god doesn't exist (maybe, maybe not) but I highly doubt that the Bible is the word of god.
