Use a cholesterol conditioning treatment every week. Make sure you're putting plenty of conditioner on your hair when you shower, especially on the ends. You should probably get an intense moisturizing kind of shampoo and conditioner. And use a shine or anti-frizz serum. Basically, you just need to keep those curls hydrated. Don't use gel or hairspray with alcohol in them, and try not to blow-dry your hair. Cute sparkly clips are always good for pulling it back a bit as well.

John Frieda has a wonderful product called Frizz Ease. Don't use too much or your hair will be weighed down. There is serum, shampoo, conditioner, wind-down, and hairspray. I have thick, coarse hair. JF helped me control the frizz.
I also use some stuff called Factor S, found in salons. It is a bit pricey, but I have found that the good products really do wonders for your hair. I can send a photo if you want. Just drop me a line.

Consider having it straightened. I am Latina and have naturally really curly hair. I got sick and tired of having to mess with it every day. One day I went to the beauty supply store and purchased a hair straightener (it's in the perm's area) and a flat iron. I love my hair now. It does not take long at all to straighten and with the right hair products, your hair will stay healthy and undamaged. Flat iron I use is CHI by Farouk and I use their line of hair products. Hope this helps.

Wonderful question!
I love to wash my hair then use Curly Buttercream or Curly Pudding. I can not use it when my hair is dry as it is slightly too oily, only slightly.
Products I have used on my curly headed boys have been the above and Curly Hair Solutions(left their hair dull looking), ion Curl Solutions, ICE hair, Pantien, Dove etc... All for curly heads. so far Miss Jessie's Products work on all three of my boys (curly butter cream..) but as stated above wash condition hair first let it absorb into the strands of hair and it is awesome.
another good place i send curly heads http://naturallycurly2.com/home/index.php
I just read what others said... Come on people use the brains God gave you. people perm their hair curly and relax their hair straight. She had curly hair and is looking for a solution. She can not perm her all ready curly hair. well unless she wants a Jeri curl or a leisure curl...

Let your hair down more often. By having it pulled back, your hair does not get enough blood circulation at its roots. Try Olive Oil Sheen Spray. Spray a little bit of this on your hair when your hair is wet. The try a bit more when it is completely dried.

I love Redken Fresh Curls spray gel. It really helps tighten the curls and decrease the frizz. Also, decreasing (or eliminating, if you can) the use of a hair dryer will help.

My sister is a hairstylist and she recently gave me an anti-frizz serum and I just used it for the first time this morning and I LOVE it! The brand is "ban de terre" or something like that. It's totally different from all the other kinds I've used. Usually anti-frizz stuff leaves my hair feeling greasy/sticky...this stuff just makes it feel like silk!
