The collared aracari http://www.fotoreiseberichte.de/costarica/cr_04_235.htm

or the Green Aracari

I am thinking of one as a pet.

Their personality and behavior is almost the same.

I would be happy with either one.

The only difference is the collared aracari is 2 inches bigger and is less colorful.

I want to make it clear I know how to properly care for and house either one and what the expense and dietary requirements are.

I also know a qualified avian veterinarian with experience with toucans.

Neither. Both of these birds are totally inappropriate as pets. Their needs can't be met in an average home and you'll have a tough time finding a qualified avain veterinarian who has treated these birds.

If you want to get a bird as a pet, consider a domestic bird like a parakeet, canary, cockatiel, or lovebird.
