between thirty and 50 people can list one or all six scriptural references why god hates homosexuality, but when a person askes how Jesus said to save souls, only 8 people answer and few of them even mention jesus?

Does it seem wrong that more christians know about the condemnation of others than how jesus said to win them over?

Am I the only one who notices this?

The purpose of this question isn't to advance the sinfulness or lack of sinfulness of homosexuality. That was just an example of what I am saying, not the topic of the conversation.

It's more fun to learn about what other people do wrong and how to condemn them. I mean no offense by this, it seriously is more fun.

It's a controversial subject on whether homosexuality is a sin or not, and for some Christians, they find joy in taking the "higher ground" and stating as absolute fact that it is a sin. When you ask them how to get saved, it's not something that most Christians debate.

Most sects of Christianity agree on the basic premise of how to get saved, so it isn't a terribly controversial subject and there's no moral "high ground" opportunity for them to declare: "I'm right! You're wrong! Here's the verse to tell you why!"

Well many people don't want to examine their own sins. It's easier to condemn others, to turn the spot light away from their own failures. In essences you'll know them by their fruits of labor. With all the condescending messages of hate towards homosexuality; I wonder if any of the individuals spouting scriptures, would be willing to love a gay person if they walked into their church, seeking Christ Jesus as Lord. Would they be considered second class Christians; or would the love of God be showered through these these so called Christians as a conduit?

I've noticed this too, and I profess to be a Christian. It's all about focus.
Sure, I believe that the Bible condemns homosexuality, but I think it's ridiculous to shun people because of a sin. If I did that I'd get very lonely very quickly.
You're right; if people believed what Jesus preached, they'd be more focused on salvation than condemnation. They may argue that Jesus hates those who pervert his law. I would respond that Jesus always hates a sin, but never the sinner.
You don't help many people when you tell them they're going to hell.
I'm sorry for those of us Christians who lose sight of the big picture (honestly, one of my guilty pleasures right now is Queer Eye. It's a lot of fun to watch those guys work.).

The scriptures tell us that none of us are worthy of casting the first stone. Most people think that homosexuality ranks right up there with murder among sins;but, in God's eyes,a sin is a sin;and, all sin hurts Him. He instructed us to love the sinner, but hate the sin.

Not to mention that quite a few of those pieces of scripture mentioned in the "homosexual" rants are probably taken out of context... but hey, whatever fits their agenda, right?

For a religion whose axis revolves around "the Lord Jesus Christ" as their savior (and his teachings of love and tolerance and all that good stuff), they only really bring up his name when they want to preach intolerance and "Come to Jesus and away from Satan!"

You're not the only one.

yes bro we all suffer from it hypocracy. seems when u try to live by bullshit(ie religion) all the words and dogma and rules get in way of the original good thoughts and intentions of the creater of such ideas. All religions are corrupted by paedolphile priests and such that have their own agendas not god or whoeva u believe in. To hate and not wish to forgive understand is heaps easier than accepting ur wrong and changing. The old statemnt ignorance is bliss. . Being gay is a way of life and society and religion better accept it or they will simply be left out of the future

it is of course wrong for Christians to condemn or judge others, and yes they are not following the teachings of Christ at all when they do this. Interestingly Jesus himself said that not all Christians would be real Christians

Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22 Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ 23 And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness.(Matt7:21-23).

Maybe some people feel better about themselves if they highlight the faults of others? Some also get over zealous and it sort of comes out the wrong way, we all need to make many adjustments, we all have bad points.

You are not the only one who notices this.

It might not be the spirit of the religion, but by and liarge the practice of Christianity is to use it as a tool to condemn 'bad' (i.e. 'different') people. A large amount of Christians have turned their belief into a hate system, to be used only as 'evidence' to back up their insufferable sense of superiority.

I would hate to be a Christian who used the Bible as a source of love and had to share the name of my religion with these types...

You have spotted it! Most Christians are bigots and verbal terrorists.

Who will be condemned the most, homosexuals or the Christian bigots. Go will decide and the bigots won't like the heat where they are going!!!
