When people say "have a safe sex" what do they really mean? Is there a pill you can take before having sex and not wind up having a baby? Because if my boyfriend wants to have sex with me I dont want to have a baby!

You can go to your local health department or planned parenthood to get both of those at little or no cost. There is also the "morning after pill" which is something that planned parenthood offers. This is the backup plan. If the condom breaks or you forget to take your pill, the morning after pill can be taken up to 72 hours after sex to prevent pregnancy. But the loger you wait the less effect it has. Check with you local health department on all the information you need to learn all about safe sex. Its in the phone book.

If you get on the pill, get on it abotu a week or two before you start having sex, because it takes a while to get in your system to start doing any good - but once you do, and you take it like you're supposed to - it's got a 95%+ chance of keeping you from having a baby.

honey if you don't know what safe sex is, you SHOULD NOT be having sex period. The only 100% safe method is abstinence. You shouldn't do anything that you don't want to do.
You need to talk to an adult that you are comfortable with about this. Sex is not something to be taken lightly. There is more at risk than just you having a baby. Sweetie there are lots of diseases you can get from sex.

Safe sex is practicing birth control to avoid pregnancy AND disease.
Use condoms for disease prevention (although not 100%) and use another reliable form of birth control to prevent pregnancy.
OR -- don't have sex.
There is no pill you can take right before having sex to prevent a baby. You must be on birth control pills for one full cycle to be safe and you must take them correctly.
OR -- don't have sex.
It sounds like it is not a good time for you as there is way too much that you don't know.
