Don't worry it will pass, she just feels lonely when you are not near.....I use the little snacks from whiskas....they come in a small bag, different flavors, salmon, beef, chicken.....I have two cats and they love them, they run when they hear me open up the cabinet and pick up the bag, so just buy some and try to give her some pieces in the morning when you leave and as soon as you get home, so she is expecting it..... If your landlord has a problem, just let her know it is a cat who always uses her litter box and doesn't smell, what else could she want!!!! Probably a guy would smell more....;)

Leave the tv on, Animal Planet. Give her lots of toys. Throw a ping pong ball type tow in a large cardboard box or in the shower stall she can chase that around. If you move consider adding another cat to give her company if you think she'd get along with other cats.
She will probably adjust pretty quickly, start taking naps and be ready to play when you come home.

Get her a catnip toy to play with!
"Given to the right cat, catnip can cause an amazing reaction! The cat will rub it, roll over it, kick at it, and generally go nuts for several minutes. Then the cat will lose interest and walk away. Two hours later, the cat may come back and have exactly the same response."

Do you know if she crys all day long or just for a brief period when you leave? Give her some catnip just before you walk out the door, it calms and relaxes them. Make sure she has plenty of toys to play with, and I always leave the TV on for my cats. It's noise they are familar with, so they feel more comfortable, like someone is around.

get some cat toys and leave a radio/tv on so it's not as quiet. then when you come home spend lots of time with your cat. ask the vet too.... good luck! i have a new cat that i adopted too, couple months ago and she likes to "talk" a lot too but she's pretty good about being left alone. she comes running to the door along with my dog though! =D
also consider getting a compainion for her, but it'll be hard to make sure that they get along..

Spend more time with her when you're at home. Make her feel loved and needed. Before you leave in the morning, give her a good rub-down and a few treats, then while she's eating sneak out.

Does she have toys? Toys are a great stress reliever and will keep her busy. You can also try leaving on the radio for her to listen to...if she is into it. Lol. This is as much info I can give and think of. My kitty doesn't like being alone either. :(. I myself feel uncomfortable leaving her, when I need to (school, dr's appt., mall...etc.).

Not really. A small collection of her favorite toys, a full dish, and a clean litterbox may help. It is an adjustment that she is having to make. As you said, she came out of a not so good environment. She just needs time to adjust to a good one.

Try leaving a Radio on (low) before you leave...I've done this and my female cat seems to appreciate the sound...It's like company for her!!

try playing with her before you leave and then feed her just before you go out the door. she may be lonely so you might consider getting an apartment that will alow pets because she might want a friend to play with.
