Look under the "Reports" tab at the top. I have QB Pro and the g/l is a subcategory under Reports/Accountant-Taxes. If yours is different, click the "Help" tab.

You can buy traditional accounting journals at any decent stationery shop. It's MUCH easier to use a software package like Quickbooks though. MUCH easier. And your journal and general ledger will be in the program. You can print paper copies of those things from the program at any time you wish. The one thing that I cannot stress enough though is : MAKE REGULAR BACKUP COPIES OF YOUR QUICKBOOKS COMPANY FILE. Get one of those things called variously a 'flash drive' or a 'thumb drive'. Back up your company data and other important documents and store the flash drive in a safe place away from your computer. [It really IS important. Trust me. If, like me, you have ever had to 'recreate' accounting records for a business entity, you would know what a pain in the (blank) it is to do that. By having a backup copy, you are saved from having to ever do that. It's worth a few minutes of your time to make backup copies.]
