Cardio, light weights with high reps. Pilates is good too as it stretches out the muscle and gives it flexibility plus strength.

You are on the right track in your thinking! As for diet, look to maintain a healthy, balanced diet. I know that sounds cliche, but it is true. Go to the first site I put, it is fun and will let you know if you really need to be losing weight (this needs to be taken seriously, don't hurt yourself). Assuming you need to lose a little,to really start to lose weight you need to eat properly. You need to look to eat four to five meals a day. It is not how many times you eat, but how much. Your key is to have five small meals.
For your meals, eat things that make you feel full, like vegatables, fruits and of course lots of water. Balance your carb intake with the amount of exercise you are doing. Don't get too many, but definitely don't get too few. You will need protein for your muscles, so look at chicken, fish (tuna is good) and lean, red meat. I always recommend setting aside a cheat day to not overdo or burn yourself out. However, have some restraint on your cheat day.
As for exercises, it depends on what you like to do, but do it correctly, do it regualarly and try to love it. Have a goal and repeat it to yourself that you are going to do it.
Cardio is a great way to help lose weight and a must to warm up the body. Start every exercise with this. Start with a slow warm up, stop and stretch and then finish your cardio. I strongly recommend swimming if you have the opportunity. This is like the best of all worlds as it tones the body, cuts your weight down and won't strain your muscles or body. If this is not possible or you don't like it, proceed to some lite weight training.

There is a video called "Calenetics" you can rent it from many movie places. If you like then they can order a copy for you. Once you have mastered this one, there is a 2ND more advanced one out. This is one that I really like. Try renting different ones and find the one you like best.
