From as long as i can rememeber, my parents always told me it was respectful and dignified to remove my hat when ever you or someone else was prayer. But i find these days hardly anyone seems to do it? i rememeber at school if we where outside for assembly or for some reason, i would be one of a very few people, all the staff included who would remove my hat for Pray. This really annoyed me seeing i went to a christian school especially, but no matter what, its good manners to remove your hat during a prayer, why are people stopping doing it?

When praying it is considered appropriate to remove your hat for the prayer. In fact, in the bible it even states the man is supposed to appear uncovered. In contrast, a woman should wear a hat to church.

For men it is very respectful of them and usually required of them to remove hats. In the old days you were not supposed work on the Sabbath so women tucked their hair in hat. If they removed their hat their hair would fall out so it is not disrespectful of woman to wear hats while praying. that includes any type of hat from fancy wide brimmed feather hats to base ball caps.

I think that they are just not being taught to do that. It should be done though.
