Being a Christian myself I can say both, this life we want to bring as many people with us to the next life (Heaven). It's are job as a Christian to show others what love is, what peace is really about. To allow the Holy Spirit to guide us in treating others the way we want to b treated. We are to open our hearts/doors to the needy, to those that have less then we do. As far as Heaven and it's importance, there will be no more pain and suffering, no hunger total peace is guaranteed..we will see loved ones again, we will see the Father that laid His life down for us so that we can walk those golden streets, what a wonderful day that will be!

Which is a glass, half empty or half full? Is a coin heads or tails? If you focus on the heads side, then you describe that aspect. Same with the tails side. However, a coin is a coin made up of heads and tails.
If you focus on this life, you lose the next. If you focus on the next life, you lose this life and lose the next life.
You have to understand both are important. God created us and He created each of us for a reason, a purpose that we need to fulfill, whether parent, president, soldier, or pastor.
Good luck.

It depends on the Christian. According to the Bible, this life is a precious gift from God and should be lived accordingly. To me, that means that we should consider this life a "test" of our basic goodness that either lets us experience the next life or prevents us from raising ourselves spiritually. So, I think this life is more important.
However, I know that many Christians are just hanging on and waiting for the next life to start, and not really experiencing this life. I find that very sad, and I wonder what they will say when God asks "What did you do with the gift that I gave you?".

I am a Christian, and I believe eternal life with Jesus is what is most important. I am reading an awesome book at the moment, The Purpose Driven Life, and in it, the author (Rick Warren) describes how life on earth is a test of our character, faith, love, obedience, integrity, and loyalty. We are always being tested to reveal our true character. And, we realize that nothing is insignificant in our lives, even the smallest incident develops our character. "Every day is a growth opportunity, a chance to demonstrate love, or to depend on God." Life on earth is also described as a Trust. God has entrusted us with energy, intelligence, opportunities, relationships and resources. We must understand that God is the owner of everything and everyone on the Earth. God trusts us with the earth and all that is in it and we are to take care of it while we are here. The more God gives us, the more responsible He expects us to be with what He has given us. Finally, life on earth is a temporary assignment. Psalm 119:19 says "I am here on earth for just a little while." The fact that earth is not our ultimate home explains why, as followers of Jesus, we experience difficulty, sorrow, and rejection in this world. It also explains why some of God's promises seem unfulfilled, some prayers seem unanswered, and some circumstances see unfair. Because This is NOT the end of the story. Earth is not our final home. We were created for something far better.
At death, we won't leave home, we'll GO home!
I borrowed much of what I wrote from the book I am reading, not because I don't think for myself, but because I feel like the author does a wonderful job of making sense of life here on earth and our eternal life in Heaven with Jesus. His book is based on Biblical truth and scripture.
I am truly enjoying my life here on earth, but I am thrilled beyond belief for what is to come when I meet my savior someday and begin my life eternal in heaven.
Peace to you!
:)

I guess both. This life is important because we need to have faith and serve the Lord.
But serving the Lord in this life assures us salavtion in the next, so I'd say Christians find importance in both lives.
God bless!

What you decide about Jesus in this life will direct your next one. Christians (speaking for myself) are living this life as it comes and are looking forward to the next. However, from what I've seen of "so-called" Christians, few are very Christ-like!

It's apparent from the stife and suffering in the here and now that most if not all Christians are more concerned with the next life (if there is one). PEACE!

I am personally concerned with this life. I am not concerned about what happens after death. God has give us huge responsibilities to give love and grace to everyone around us. We can't always be looking to the afterlife. God put us here for a reason. It wasn't so we could just run around, claim Christianity, die then go back up to Heaven. We are here for a lot more.
