Think that their grandchildren are the best, and wish they had them first!?
I get so much pleasure from them, I want to eat them, they are so cuddly, I can spoil them rotten, I can hand them back when they are tired or want a nappy changed. They will do more for me then my own children used to do. Are not they the greatest thing???

I am a father of 7.
I am [so far] a grandparent of 4 - the grandchildren are all girls; but they are lovely.
There is always joy there ... especially with grandchildren; they seem to hold that extra respect over what one's own children seem to exhibit.
But I think a lot of it is that by the time your children begin to have their own, they are maturing sufficiently to see your wisdom [which they didn't earlier] and they speak to their children [your grandchildren] about you with more respect than how they spoke to you as a child.
The partial result is your grandchildren already have some extra respect for you even while they are young.
The advantage of doing the 'hard time' when young by having 7 of your own is that in years to come you are likely to be constantly surrounded by the love of your family and extended family - even if mine only each had 3, that makes 21 grandchildren, plus my own 7 children.
By the time you move into Great grandchildren, you could be talking anywhere between 50 and 100 in 25 further years!!

I have 5 Granddaughters and another granddaughter on the way, I have 1 of my granddaughters living with me. She is 10 yrs.old and such a joy. My other granchildern are in Louisiana and other parts of Texas, I talk to them as much as I can.

I wouldn't know yet,,soon in november I will be a grandmother for the first time,,I am only 32 yrs old and am very excited to have someone else in my life to love and share my life with,,don't get me wrong,,I love my kids but this is just a different kind of joy.....

They are truly a special connection. Two, at 4 and 6 are a handful but at the same time, are the light of my life. They are a focus that make all else matter less, when they are around.

On tv- *And what are you going to do with the money?" " Well, I have three grandchildren so I'm going spend it on them".
Spend it on yourself Gran. They are spoiled rotten already. Buy granddad something.

I have a 7 mo. old granddaughter -- love her to pieces. PLUS there is a grandson coming in October. I can't wait!!!

yes, they are the best...I have 2yr grandson and I am only 38yrs..it great because I'm out there with him playing and running.
