My daughter has very curly hair. They are not soft, but dry and dull. I tried oiling and finesse conditioning but it doesn't work. She is a very petite figure so she doesn't look nice in very short hair. Any suggestions.

Do not try anything that has Silicons in it. She needs some oil in her hair and majority of shampoos and conditioners contain silicon that in a long run cause dryness. Look for Olive Oil Hair Sheen Spray. Spray a little bit of this on her hair when her hair is wet. You can add some more when her hair is dried. This will help her tremendously in gaining the lost oil back. Repeat this everyday. You will be surprised. Also, once every two weeks, try a treatment that contains Mayo, eggs and Olive Oil. Good Luck!

Here is a home remedy regimen for dry hair:

Use mayonnaise: Use a dollop of mayonnaise on the palm of the hand and massage it to the head and leave it on for five minutes before having the bath. The recommended time for the mayonnaise treatment is an hour.

Spray the beer: If you do not get any relief from using the mayonnaise, you can use beer as a good setting lotion that gives your hair the crisp, healthy and shiny look. You can pour some beer into an empty pump bottle and spray on the hair after shampooing and towel dry. Then you can style or blow-dry the hair.

Shampoo minimally: choose a shampoo for dry, damaged hair.

Condition your hair: Conditioner glues cuticles back to the shaft and lubricates them. It also prevents static electricity, thus preventing its frizzy appearance.

Cut off the split ends: Every six weeks or so

She needs a trim to cut off the dry ends. Ask your favorite salon for a conditioning shampoo and conditioner. One that will soften and define the curl. Make sure she is eating a healthy diet too. Ask doctor to give you advice on a particular vitamin or foods she can eat. Both of these will help. My prayers are with you and God bless!

Okay well my hair was kind of like that. Then i statred to use different hair products. I switched my shampoo and conditioner and that really worked. On top of that sometimes i used gel and sometimes mousse and sometimes hairspray to control the frizzeness. If short hair doesnt suit your daughter then try growing her hair.

is it that she has frizzes or fly aways? if so you can put some lotion n your hands and see how far that goes I was told by some of my Friends that if your hair is really full of curls put some left over lotion from your hands into your hair. kinda like your going to gel your hair but not that much! I hope that this helps with your answering needs!

I have similar hair and I just started using Ringlet by Redken. I like the way that it works so far, and maybe it would be good on your daughter's hair.
