Last night my bf of 5 months asked me to dinner. Just out of the blue, he asked me if going to dinner would make me happy. He then said it cant be a sleepover because he needs to get his sleep for work the next day, and he has his dog, which Ive seen once in 5 months. I told him it's been a while since the last time I stayed over (about 3 weeks) and that since we dont see each other a lot (maybe once a week or so) that it's just some extra time for us to spend together, and he should consider compromising. He got upset and said to stop it, and threw something I said three months ago in my face. He said the answer is no, and he said maybe we should just forget dinner if it's going to be this way. he then got nice again and said he's under a lot of stress with his family. His sister is sick, and he told me he goes over there everyday to see her, and he was basically making himself look like a victim. Why did he get so angry with me about mentioning us spending more time together?

ok, I answered your other question too. DEFINITELY say that you 2 need to sit down and talk. Tell him how you feel about EVERYTHING ( how he made you feel, how you feel about the relationship, how you feel about him, etc ) Again, make him talk to you too. Have him explain how he feels and what he wants. Work out a way that you can be there and 'help' him in whatever way he wants/needs. I can tell you that, as guys, we are pretty 'slow' sometimes to see what we really have. Do NOT make him feel guilty, etc for things he CANNOT control (working extra, sick sister, etc...) Be supportive and remember that where there's a will, there's a way. Key is - is he willing to work with you to find that ???? If he's NOT, then consider that you may be wasting your time.....

It may be that he is under a lot of stress, and it may be more than he can handle right now. Keep that in mind as you go forward.
It may be that he's confused, or maybe he's just bi-polar. The point is that you know him better than any of us. If you can get him to talk, you would be doing yourself a favor, but most men don't talk too much.
Lastly, it's not all about him. You have needs too. You cannot accept misery to make him merely content. If you care about him, you will surely help him and be understanding. If you care about yourself, you'll recognize the line that you should not be forced to cross. He needs to know it's a two-way street.

You should find a guy who'll treat you better. He sounds awful suspicious and he might be cheating. I don't know enough about the situation to make the choice for you, but you should definitly reassess this partnership.

he probably thinks that when you say that, you mean that somethings wrong with this relationship that he worked to hard to build onto. he also thinks that maybe you dont like him anymore if he says if its gonna make u happy. he might be stressed but to throw something u said 3 months ago back to u? iunno....he probably is stressed....
