I have been to many weddings...officiated at some of them (I'm a minister) and the one thing that I always remember is how absolutely beautiful the brides were and the look on the groom's face when they see their lovely bride for the first time! *so sweet*

The disposition of the bride & groom and the manners/behavior of wedding party and immediate family. Bad attitudes and inappropriate remarks/actions on a wedding day are remembered far longer than the dress or the cake.

Furthermore, I always remember bratty kids and babies who cry during the service. It is INCREDIBLY rude to take a child to a service if that child cannot be guaranteed to be silent during the wedding. I have seen dozens of weddings ruined by untamed babies and children.

Why people don't get babysitters for special events is beyond me.

I tend to remember the way the bride and groom acted. The first wedding that I went to that I was old enough to remember, the bride and groom seemed very unhappy. Everything was going wrong for them and they were just stressed out and it showed. But at almost every other wedding I've been to I just noticed how happy the bride and groom look and how much in love they seem to be.

Usually the rubbish music, I hate wedding "discos". I have been to loads of Scottish weddings where they have traditional dancing, that's great fun (it's called a Ceilidh). I remember the dresses, I remember if the food has been good or bad, most of it has been fairly good, but one wedding I went to we all got fish and chips, but it was nasty frozen fish, really thin and rock solid. The bride and Groom complained as it was meant to be much higher standard, they got a full refund.

The nastiness of the family of the bride (she was marrying my husband's brother) and they were very snotty to my husband and myself because we were at the rehearsal dinner (my husband's family was paying and had invited us to attend) and then at the wedding because we had our baby daughter, who by the way fell asleep and slept through the entire ceremony. Then when we got to the reception, we discovered that my husband had a place to sit and I was not even listed as a guest for the reception. So to my mind it was a very poor excuse for a wedding. It was not a happy occasion, as a result we do not have contact with them.

I loved the coctail hour before the sit down dinner. It was ammazing. We had hors d'ouvers, and a fruit, cheese, crakers arraged in an amazing elegant tower.
After that we had a sit down dinner. Food kept on coming and I was so stuffed! Buffets are so tacky, this was an actual sitdown dinner and the open bar was simply amazing.
Fresh flowers were on every table. It was simply beautiful.
The DJ was amazing! The dancing went on and on and on!

Good luck

My wedding was the last one -- the feedback I got was the music, my brother's best man speech, and the fact that everyone loved the idea of it being a destination wedding.

My friend was married a few months ago and I remember people smelling our flowers... which were silk by the way... and asking us why they didn't smell. It was so funny. People couldn't tell that they were not live cala lilies.
I also remember the girl singing... she was awesome and should seriously consider a career of it!
