Or depends...what did you do? Was your DL expired? Tags expired? Insurance? if so, just get up to date with all your papers and they might dismiss the case or let you go with a slightly smaller fine than before (than if you don't update your papers).
Best way is to get a lawyer as soon as you get the ticket though. And stop breaking the traffic laws. lol. Easiest way to avoid them. Or you can try to get a radar detector. Be more aware of your surroundings, cops are usually there when you least expect them, and remember they do have unmarked, unrecognizable vehicles sometimes.

pay it- or show up on the date you're due to pay- and contest them. this only works if you have a valid reason. perhaps the ruling will be made in your favor.
