Yes, but only because they felt so threatened by Japan. Had Japan not been involved I'm not convinced they would have.
Similarly, had we, the British, not repelled the German attacks, without any of your help at that time may I add, I think they would have washed their hands of Europe altogether. They were fine with helping us with supplies and things, but they would never have joined in the war if there had been much chance at all of them losing, too much to lose.
"Also we took on Asia with minimal help because europe was too busy getting pounded...."
Ahem! The British contributed much more than 'minimal help' in the pacific, I suggest you read a history book.

They were already helping Britain with supplys before the attack on Pearl Harbour so I'd think they would have joined it at some point. Pearl Harbour just forced there hand a bit sooner.

No, UK and German war had been going on for five years 1939 to 1944, when Pearl Harbour attacked in the December. USA must have been pretty sure of the out come to join in for a year, before claiming to have "won" WWII. I think they saw they would need us as Allies in the Asian War such as Korea etc.

no i think america would have stayed out of it if it wasn't for pearl harbour i do think that someone should have a word with us movie producers the way they go you would think america were the only country fighting and that they won it all on there own funny how they joined in the year before it finished they seem to miss this point in the films that the uk had done all the hard work first

I think the Battle of Brittain had a lot to do with it.
Germany rolled through the rest of Europe mostly unchallenged. So everyone (especially the US) thought we would crumble and just give in. So the US chose not to get involed inorder to stop getting their hands blooded and being involved with "lossers".
Instead we were the first to fully resist the Nazi's full onslaught, this changed a lot of minds in the us. They then started to think that they... sorry..... we could win WW2.
Pearl Harbour was just the last straw.

Not if Joe Kennedy had anything to do with it.
By the by, Pearl Harbour was December 7th 1941 not 1944.
The U.S did not declare war on Germany! Germany declared war on them.

the attack on pearl harbour was a clear signal for them to join the war, and i am sure they would have found another excuse to do so.

They were very reluctant. The british government asked for their help on a number of occasions, but without any joy.
British requests had little to do with them joining the war. It was mainly down to pearl harbor.
