Throughout my entire life, I have seen the U.S. government deny illnesses created by war. Illnesses created by Agent Orange, Gulf War syndrome, etc.

I get angry because the government puts our men and women in harms way and then deny that the wars were the cause of the illness. How do VETERANS feel about this?

Veteran's are treated like SH IT by the government!!! That is until they die - then the government is right there, fast as you please, full honors service, etc.. It is a travesty!

The government is doing just fine. If you get angry about how veterans are treated, you shouldn't be posting your anger on this web site. You should be writing letters to Uncle Sam.

By the way, what you list is part of the sacrifice Veterans make when defending our country. It is the same as getting hit by a bullet or booby-trap or Chicom grenade--it's just not officially recognized that way. So, I'm proud of my disabilities--it proves I gave selflessly for my country and way of living to survive.

Your question and details lead me to believe you're trying to get Veterans to belittle their government by evoking anger at the treatment of us veterans.

Some of the very veterans you're trying to evoke a negative response from are also very astute, and we pick up on fake-players because of how we were treated by your kind when we come home from war.

My government treatment is slowed by the immense size of the veteran population here in America. If you are so concerned about the effects of radiation exposure, Gulf War Syndrome, exposure to asbestos and other veteran illnesses--where the Hades were you before now.

I think you're an agent of foreign powers trying to stir up the Veterans of the United States. It won't work.

Us Veterans get the best treatment that veterans are getting in the World. Your attempt to make trouble is exposed. We're going to create a lot more Veterans kicking the Muslim butts.

Do you really think that the WAR MACHINE cares how these soldiers feel? Hell, for quite some time in the Iraq Occupation our soldiers went without food, water and still haven't gotten proper gear nor do all have protected Humvee's. The Vets from other wars are getting pretty upset by the treatment these men and women have to endure. Their information is constantly compromised, they have to worry about getting proper health care and what lies beyond the war zone. Now there are large numbers of Gulf War vets acquiring tumors and cancers, all because they have been exposed by our government to depleted uranium. My brother was exposed to Agent Orange and all of his children had cleft palates. The worse thing about it was that the defoliation was done to make it easier to get to the precious metals that were in them darn hills. During WW2, a friend said that after they took over this area they started tearing down trees and the High Commander came over the radio screaming to stop immediately. THEY WERE DAMAGING TREES THAT THE PALMOLIVE COMPANY NEEDED................CAN NOT REMEMBER WHAT NEWS SHOW I WAS WATCHING ON SEPTEMBER 11TH, BUT A FELLOW BEING INTERVIEWED SAID THAT THIS WAS A WAR AGAINST WALLSTREET. SEE MONEY IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVILS AND THE COMMONERS ARE NOTHING BUT CANNON FODDER TO BE USED BY THE ELITE TO PROTECT THEIR INTERESTS.

The problem is that the Veterans Association, is run by politians you are trying to save a buck. They are always cutting cost where they can. Some of us are lucky, me I get all my medical, but sometimes if you need something they will deny it for money reasons, they also make you go thru a lot to change things. Also the money is not that good for Veterans who are disabled, if you are 100% you get 5,000 a month, but if you are 90% you only get 1,200 a month, even if you are rated at 100% they may combined things to get you only the 90% or lower. Lastly, if you are not injured and you retire you only get medical to 65, then you are on your own. There is a lot of things that need to change.

Benefits for veterans are horrible. There are cutbacks everywhere. There are long waiting lines to be seen by doctors and costs for this and that. The same Congress that cuts veterans benefits continues to vote themselves pay increases. Their pay, they get for life. However, military retirement is always being cut. Some get 50% of base pay but that's been lowered to 33%. It all depends when you joined. No matter what, it's not much considering the job you've done for serving this country. Don't get me wrong, I don't think we (the military) should just have things given to us. We chose our careers. However, we do deserve better treatment. If a veteran has to pay for insurance and only receive a portion of his base pay, so should Congress.

The way Veterans are treated by the U S government is a shame. It definitely does not make someone who knows about the shabby treatment want to go and join up......

It all depends on where you are at. Some V.A.'s are better than others. For the most part though they get put on waiting lists a mile long. and six months down the road. If you get sick God help ya cuz you could die before being seen.I don't blame the v.a. as much for that as I do the government. It's constantly cutting the budget for support for our vets.
