I answered a question earlier today and now I am going to say it again. Trust me, it's a guaranteed laugh with a side of cheer.
My husband is a big guy. Not fat, 5'11 250lbs solid muscle. Big body builder. I was having a bad day, crying, feeling sorry for myself, just one of those complicated work days. He came out of the bedroom with a pair of my thongs on, and it was WAY to small, and gave me a couch dance. I then was crying from laughing so hard. Drooling on myself hysteria. I was in a much better mood. He was hysterically sexy!
note: the cornier the better. He was very cheesy!
He knows how to make me smile no matter how down in the dumps I may feel.

I'm sorry about your dad. Mine died when I was 21 so Father's Day is rough for me too. Since I haven't had a day off since last Sunday I'm looking forward to not having to work tomorrow and will be spending the day cleaning my apartment and hanging out with a friend I haven't seen in awhile. The latter will be more fun and here's what I suggest you do: Bake some cookies and eat them fresh and warm out of the oven while you watch your favorite funny movies or try to borrow some you haven't seen from the library (if your library allows you to check out movies). Invite a friend over, if one is available, and do all the silly little girl things you used to when you were a kid - ya know, play around with make up and do each others nails and hair, talk about boys and play all the silly games you used to play - ya know like MASH! Man that was fun "game". :) Why don't you try to find your father? If nothing else, you'll find him and be glad he wasn't in your life, but it could be the best thing you've ever done. He might be really glad you tried to find him. He might even be looking for you! All the best, hun. :)

There are those typical girls who enjoy material things... but not always!
As a girl, I love being hugged. I love it if my bf is constantly there next to me, cheering me up and saying things like, "I'll always be here to next to u whenever u need me..."
U could also ask her to walk with u, wherever. Just being able to walk and talk and just enjoying the view is quite a lovely thing. Spending quality time with her is the key. Especially when she needs cheering up... all she needs is an assurance that u will never ever leave her side no matter what. We love that.. Listen to her when she talks. Be attentive. Look into her eyes lovingly.
just be there. Give hugs and hold her hand.

My favorite cheering up technique? Ok, here goes......He pulls me under a big, comfy quilt and puts on my favorite movie. Then he cuddles me and when I start to smile he gives my nose a little lick then kisses all over my face. I can't help but laugh!!! then he'll tickle me just a little and tell me how beautiful I am when I smile and how much he loves me. It works everytime and it never gets old. Just hold her and try to get her to smile. Don't aggravate her, but be playful. She'll appreciate it. Put her first and remember what she likes. Favorite movie, stuffed animal, treat, drink. Put 2 and 2 together and you'll get a happy girl!

Instead of taking her to a spa, dinner and a movie, do all of it at your place. Fix a table for 2, with her favorite flower petals or roses, and candles and tablecloth with her favorite colors. Then after dinner, pop in a movie that she really likes that you never really liked that much and wouldn't watch with her. After the movie goes off, give her a nice long back rub with some massaging oil or even baby oil. Then please her with intimacy that night, and tell her how special she is to you, and how much you care for her.

UUUUHHHHHHHH stop being cheap would be one way!!! there should be no price on happiness..
Make her breakfast, make her dinner, watch a movie, hell make a homemade movie.. Wash her hair, give her a head to toe body massage, including polishing her toe nails and finger nails.. if u try to pamper her she'll appreciate it and tell all her friends about it...
write her a poem, sing her-her favorite song.. Make her a homemade card, make a photo album with a whole bunch of pics of u and her...
is that enough ideas for ya...

Make her dinner then pamper her w/ a nice back massage. Rent a funny movie (sappy movies will make her more depressed). Then take her to bed and "pamper" her there too, if you know what I mean. ;)
