okay here goes.. I have tried shark meat and squid. The Squid I didn't like but the way the shark meat was prepared was delicious. I usually get it at restaurants - rare times-that prepared the dish in a special way but I do know how to do all the hard work from scratch to cook it. It takes a lot of cleaning preparation and shark has to be a particular shark and size otherwise meat is very tough. Anyway one would like it if they like salmon or Tuna.

I've had hakarl in Iceland.
Shark that's been buried in the sand for 6 months till it's good and rotten. It is truly vile and must be washed down with copious quantities of vodka.
I think it's a Viking thing!

I was watching the fishing boats come in, Freeport Long Island. One of the Fish mongers was taken slices off a still live Tuna, sushi grade. So he hands me a slice, he said to me, your Mother did not raise a wimp. So I took it, and ate, real clean, non fishy.
