Samaria was an area within Palestine. The Samaritan people had a religion that was a mixture of Jewish beliefs and pagan beliefs. The Jews were so prejudiced against the Samaritans that they would have nothing to do with them. They wouldn't eat from a plate if they thought a Samaritan had eaten from it. Jesus was a Jew. He was also a Rabbi(Jewish teacher) no rabbi would have taught religious or spiritual things to a woman, Jewish men and women who were strangers weren't even supposed to interact at all.
Jesus stopped to rest at "Jacob's" well, there was a Samaritan woman there, he asked her for a drink. She was completely shocked that he would even acknowledge her presence much less ask something of her. She asked him some questions and he answered them, another thing no Jewish man would have done. He told her he was the Messiah. Read John's account of the story in the Bible, John 4:5-29. It is an interesting story and a great one to teach against prejudice with.
God bless you.

Do u mean the women whom Jesus asked water about.
This is the story abt it
Jesus approched the shabariah woman and asked for some water since he was really thirsty. Then the woman replied that she is from a lower caste and thus is not worthy to pour water to a Jew. Jesus told her that this well gives you water for a temporary period and you will thirst again but if you drink the water that i give you will never thirst again. Then Jesus told her to call her husband....women replies that she don't have a husband....Jesus tells her.."Yes its true you don't have a husband now but you have had five husbands before"..this amazes the woman she asks Jesus who he was. "Are you a prophet" or mesiah...then the girl realizes that Jesus was the mesiah they have been waiting for...so she goes to her village and tells everyone this good news.

Well not sure what you are after so I will explain what I can. Most I have forgotten myself. Jesus was in Judaea and had to leave cause of the Pharisees. He was going to Galilee, but He said in verse 4 I must needs go through Samaria. This tells me that the normal route to Galilee was not to go through Samaria, even though it was on the way. Jesus came to a well in Samaria and rested on the well. When Jesus asked the lady for a drink read verse 9 what her responce was. Jews didnt have nothing to do with Samaritans, not sure why. But thank God Jesus wasn't like most folks are today. Verse 10 Jesus is telling her that He can give her living water. When Christ told her of the water that He gives brings eternal life, the woman wanted to know more about this water. Then Jesus confronted her of her sin. He asked her to go bring her husband, and look at her response. She told him the truth about having no husband, but Jesus said the man you are with now is not your husband. She knew then that Jesus was a prophet, but still had no clue he was the messiah to come. Read verse 25 cause she then says when the messiah comes he will tell us all things. What did Jesus do when he asked her about her husband. He told her all things. Jesus told her that he was the Christ, the one to come. Notice the woman got quiet. The disciples came and they wanted to know why Jesus stopped to talk to a samaritan. Its a wonder if Jesus didnt scold them. I believe the woman got saved and left her water pot and went to witness to the others in the city. Read verse 39- many believed cause of the woman. In verse 40-41 Jesus tarried 3 more days and many was saved. Hope that helps. Sorry about so much to read.
