I feel like God has a huge calling on my life and I'm trying to the best of my ability to listen to Him and follow Him. But it seems like I'm just heading in the wrong direction. Sometimes I feel like I walk through the fire only to be rewarded with more fire to walk through. Is this simply the price I must pay to refine my character to handle what God has for me, or am I just really deceived?

I don't like that it works that way. but it does. so, yep, you're being refined. and if it's hard along the way and you feel like you're going the wrong way then God probably has something to teach you. the best thing you can do is pray pray pray and wait on the Lord. Don't forget that he is faithful... always! Also good to remember is the fact that if God has a huge calling for your life, then he probably has to refine you a HUGE amount. My life is like that too, i think every Christian that is a true Chirstian must go through this because we are so far off from being like God. there is so much work for him to do in us so that we can do his work. i want to tell you though, there will be times when you don't think you can do it anymore, but those are the times when God shows up. and if there is more fire to come after that, well, sweety, be like Christ in the garden and say, "Not my will Father, but thine be done."

You must be headed in the right direction especially if the fire is heating up. Just like gold must be refined before it is pure, that it what is happening to you. Stand firm and stay the course as you are headed for something great! I will say a special prayer for you.

A) Everyone has a calling. Everyone has a path to follow that God, in His infinite knowledge, knows is the best path for that individual.

B) Trust your instincts. Read Scripture. Follow the moral and ethical code laid down by Jesus.

C) Recognize that suffering for sinners is a noble calling and if you're being called to this, go with the flow.

D) And remember, YOU aren't refining your character. HE IS! So let go and let God. Trust Him, He's a professional. He knows what He's doing.

god is the little voice in the back of your mind that says; "Go beat your head on a wall till it bleeds, then go swimming with sharks."
He/she is not real. It is only a figment of your imagination fueled by others with the same need to feel like someone big and strong is taking care of you some how, and will guide you to his happy dreamland when you die. It's very comforting, I'm sure, to believe all that. But that doesn't change the fact that it is self delusion.

Sounds like it may be a refining.
Be careful you do not get ahead of God, let Him do things in His timing or you will keep walking through that fire for years to come. I have been there over and over again.

Enough of the doubt.

Trust God to let you know.

How much more reasonable do you need to be?

He got you this far, right?

The is a scripture somewhere, 'for we walk by faith and not by sight.' I think that is the best waay to describe what it is you are going through. It sounds like you are trying to see, when you should be trusting Him.

G-D never deceives, but many who claim to be His agents do. If your path through fire did not take you where you needed to go, either you are not finished with the journey, or you stepped off a true path and are following a false one.

Through these sorrows, God is molding you to be the person he wants you to be. Keep walking through the fire, because sooner or later you will be rewarded as a servant of God.

GOd bless!

You're deceiving yourself. Your not being refined or tested, it's just stuff that happens.
