whats with her parents? (neglect?) she already had to drop out from "heat exaustion" at the age of 15 she has no bussiness out there in any professional field PERIODE!! Whats going on with people today who think "Children" have any Business in professional sports or bussinesses??? I think there is a problem with this, a 15 year old is NOT an "adult", they have (no stamina, strength, or energy) to compete in Major sports as you can see.8 strokes over??? I can do that, what gives??? She neeeds to retire, untill she is OLD enough to be Mature enough for the sport! Too much Hype for a 15 year old, she needs to goto school like all the other teens! You think?

Good point, she hasnt Won anything, all she is is a "Could be"... I could understand if she were the youngest country singer in the world, but at Leaste she can "Sing"!!
Thats the point here, "money" is one thing, because you can or want too isnt a good enough reason to neglect your childhood years with professional Golf...
Its a sad situation with Money and fame, She hasnt won the first game yet, her Strength "Passing out from heat exaustion" is No Excuse for being "Talented" and Winning, those are 2 Differant things, Right?

First of all I have a 16 year old daughter, who's active in sports, and she has Talent too, But I would never put her through a professional Sport "of any kind", its not jealousy, Its simple parenting, I can understand the Olympics, but this is rediculous! Its too much stress for a teen for one and they have enough pressure from school and college in there near Future for another!
Whats she's not going to further her edjucation? whats up with that ?

I AGREE WITH YOU 100%, BUT IT'S ALL ABOUT $ . NOW THINK ABOUT THIS. SHE HAS TO DO THIS BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE COMES ALONG AND KICKS HER OUT. , RIGHT NOW WITH ALL HER INDORSEMENTS SHE IS BIGTIME. NOW IF SOMEONE ELSE COMES ALONG MICHELLE HAS MADE HER MONEY , AND AT A YOUNG AGE AND SHE STILL HAS TIME TO BECOME A STAR.

is it her age or her talent that you take exception with? She has the talent. Eight over one time does not mean she can not compete. It means she had a bad day. Everyone has those every once in a while. Using your reasoning, no child (under the age of 18) should ever be allowed to be a professional in anything even though thay may be better than many adults in that profession (working for money). Michelle may not be able to compete with the best men on a regular basis but she regularly does better than some men at each and every one of the tournaments she enters. So if she is not qualified to play, then many of those adult men are also unqualified to play. Furthermore, she regularly competes and place well against the best women golfers playing today. Obviously, playing regularly has not taken its toll on Michelle - she obviously has the stamina, strength, and energy to do it.
As for age, she is doing nothing that any other child would love to do if they had the talent - get paid for doing what they love to do. And she is doing it all within the labor laws.

First I can't be sure but I don't think her parents are forcing her to play professional sports, it may be that she wants to.
Second her age has nothing to do with heat exhaustion or stamina. There are a lot of high school, college and professional players who have had heat exhaustion.
Third I don't think you could compete with her when she was 14 let alone now.
And last she does go to school, probably one of the hardest private schools in Hawaii. She may not have a normal life like in your fairy tale world, but so what. I am sure Tiger Woods did not have a "normal" life either even though he did not turn professional until after a couple of years of college.

She's strong enough to compete on an adult tour!!! She or her parents didn't even know that she can compete on a professionel adult tour. It's the sponsor of the tour that gave her permission to compete on an adult tour.
We can't just sign up and participate on a professionel adult tour!!! Many people see that she is very talented and the sponsors want to make some money so they invite Michelle Wie to compete on the tour. Even if she is not old enough she can
even beat Grace Park so it's not about the age, it's about the
talent. Even I compete on an a amateur adult tour and i'm just 10!
Even someone is 32 and don't have the talent, they can't compete on that tour. You have to win some Junior tournaments before entering in a professionel adult tour.

I understand your question, and I really hope that her story will have a happy ending (and middle)...Although she hasn't won any tournaments, she's been in the running in a lot of events, especially several majors already. So, she still may end up becomning the #1 women's player in time. I kind of agree with you about all the men's events she's tried out for. I can't criticize her too much for pursuing a dream, but the hype surrounding each one is a bit much.

My guess is that her parents just couldn't wait any longer to be multi-millionaires. She and her parents ignored Tiger Woods' advice to continue playing at a level where she could win consistantly - oh well, what does he know, anyway?
All of her PGA appearances have been disasters - especially her last one. But, they get Nike the exposure they are paying for while at the expense of a 16-year old's well being.
I think she is being exploited and I wouldn't be surprised if she totally burns out on golf in her twenties and quits and/or has a falling out with her parents.

The thing is, shes good enough to compete at age 15. Why wouldnt a 15 year old want millions of dollars a year, free nike stuff, and being on tv almost everyday whether its on sportscenter of in a golf tournament. She took her opportunity and made the best of it.

This is just a media ploy and her and her parents have bought into it. She isn't the best woman golfer and not even the best teen girl golfer. She is just cute and over hyped. She needs to stick to women's tournaments until she can at least win one of those. Can you say Anna Kournikova.
