I'm a mother and my daughter is 9 son is 7 I will tell you this If you truly love and respect your mother then there is one thing that seems cheap but it "from a mother herself" is the best you as a mother can receive from a child!
Get her a card about a mother. Take time to think about what she means to you and what she had done.....write that into a letter .........from your heart your words,.....I did and still do this for my mother and it makes her cry form the joy that love her so much I express it in that way! Especially when My 9 year old does it for me it makes me feel like I did a good job as a parent and that to a mother is better than any gift!
Just thank her for all she did and has done.
you'll be amazed trust me!

How sweet. Go to walmart and try to find her a Dvd (the ones in the $5-$6 dollor bin) you are more than likely to find a great older movie in there that you mom would absoultly love.
I just had a birthday last week and my 12 year old boy made me a birthday card with a poem in it, (he just copied a poem from one at walmart, but it was the thought that counted) and we went on a picnic that he made. and i thought the day couldn't get any better but it did, when i got home he got me a dvd for my birthday, It was my favorite movie growing up as a teenager. it only cost $6 dollars at walmart.

Anything from your heart will be fine. Take her to lunch. It wont matter that it isn't expendive its the thought that counts. or take a picture and put it in a frame. Moms love pictures of their kids. Do something extra around the house and leave a note saying :" I just thought you might like to rest today!" Thats always nice to hear. As long as it is meaningful to you i'm sure she will love it.

Go get her something she will like and then make her a birthday cake something like her favorite kind. Or you can make her something from the heart let her know how much you love her and you want her to have a good birthday. Most important have fun everyone wants to have fun on their birthday.

A necklace with a lockit...with your picture in it. Moms love a gift that has alot of thought to it. You can get a lockit at walmart for about 10 bucks.

Why don't you get her a $25 gift card at Starbucks, or a gift certificate to a nail salon?

Go the free route and save your money!!

Make her a list of coupons that she can redeem any time that she wants, like:

1 free dusting
1 free dish duty..

stuff like that, I use those all the time...they even work on my wife!
