Does it frighten you to know that men like this are in positions of power and influence? There are plenty of people who aren't far removed from this level of ignorance, currently pulling strings in the American government, also.

And people ask me why I can't just "let people believe what works for them"...

Yes indeed the earth is very very flat. Supporting land and water on both sides. If you are in a boat and reach the edge you will simply continue on the other side. Christopher Columbus proved this years ago. More yet, anyone who has been to the Space Station can clearly see that the earth is one big round flat disc.
This theroy is also supported by the makers of Frisbee. The flying disc. If the earth was a sphere the Frisbee wouldn't fly. Think about it brother.

Funnily, Christopher Columbus was also called an atheist when he asked the Catholic Church if he could sail to the giant waterfalls at the end of the earth. Maybe if he'd listened to the current religious propaganda he wouldn't have found gold and changed the way peaceful Mayans and Incas lived.
Hey! Maybe his followers ARE being punished!
Interesting!
Thank you!

Does this man really speak for all of Islam (excluding Osama and Fiends...)? Then again did said quotation actually come from him?

Only a religious intolerant imbecile would believe this. This runs counter to all the evidence that we have seen in the past hundreds of years...I mean if he wants to believe it fine by me let him live in his own pit...but this Islamic fool is imposing a lie to the rest of the rational and sane Muslims throughout the world...

When the earth is viewed on a cartographer's map laying on a flat surface it really is flat. If this uneducated man believes the earth is a flat plane floating in the universe and chooses to perpetuate his ignorance on his followers then that's his choice and his followers' misfortune.

No it's not and you can see from the pictures taken from space that it isn't. It seems to me that what your saying is that all Muslims buy what this one Sheik said as fact...Not the case...vast majority know that the earth is a sphere. PEACE!

The christian church did'nt accept that the earth is round until 1983. So they're both used to sitting at the back of the short bus.

I read that once a long time ago. It's funny and scary at the same time.

Even though, it seems some people here are missing the point of your "question".

As someone said once, irony and sarcasm biggest problem is that they usually go unnoticed.

Not everybody who believes in a god believes in the SAME god, so someone who doesn't believe that the earth is flat and who believes in evolution doesn't have to be an atheist.
