Yes cats can become attracted to you, not in a sexual way though.
Female cats or "Queen's" usually become attached to men, but not all the time. My cat is 14 years old, she has been with me since she was 8 weeks old, and is very attached to me. She will always find out where i am and demand attention, it's the cats way. As with any animal it is how well you treat them. The more natural you are with animals the better they will be with you, and the more respect they show towards you means how good a person they think you are.
Male cats "Tom's" are more aloof, but they can become attached to the person who feeds, strokes, cares for and loves him, and yes they attach better to women.

Yes they can, but not in a sexual way. They could be attached to you if you treat them like one owns kids. If they really like you, they will aquire some cat/dog tendincies such as following you every where you go, never leaving your side, and if trained to, if you call them by their name, they will start running to you. Yup Yup, thats what my Turkish Angora cat does.

I know someone who has a cat that is stalking him... when he's walking home from work she jumps on him from behind, starts licking his neck and digs her claws in to hold on tight!
