Things have just seemed so complicated lately, that these happy memories have been popping up more and more (even while writing this). The problem is I often want to be there instead of here, or at least re-experience those exact memories, and feel the happiness I felt about them then. I want to be able to control things so I can create that for myself, a means where I can go back and re-experience, somehow. Why do I feel this way??

Have you ever noticed a child as they discover some thing for the first time? It is completely spellbinding. Do you have any of those memories? Spend some time with a small child, and relive your earliest memories with them and through them. Why am I telling you this you ask? (You are asking right?) Because, everything was a great "joy to discover," and there was so much of it to do. Each time, it was so incredible that you were constantly looking ot find these discoveries. This is the reason I am telling you this. Recapture the wonderousness of discovery. It is so cool to have great memories, and to remember the happiness that you felt, and that is the reason to continue to create your future memories, but live, right now, as if there were nothing you wanted to control, because in doing so, there is no "joy of discovery." There is no excitement of finding out which of the plethora of possibilities, comes to be. Even if you could go back and re-experience some of these things you want to, it would not be the same as it was for you, and I am afraid that you would only experience disappointment rather than what you thought you would, unless, you re-experience it and create only this, that you are experiencing it for the first time. Life is still an awesome thing to discover at any age. Spend some time with a small child so that you can remember how to do it.

your life must be totally out of your control and that must be why you are having these "flashes" of memories of better days. we cannot go back into our past and re-live them to experience those same exact feelings~ it just isn't possible; just as we cannot go back into our past life and undo things we may have done or had done to us.
we all want our lives to be under our control but unfortunately it seldom works out that way. but we cant expend so much energy stressing over something we cannot change. that much stress is not good for our hearts, our bodies, our souls.
stress can actually have an adverse effect on our health. so if you have a situation that is truly a problem, step back, take a deep breath, and truthfully decide whether this is even something that you wish to spend your valuable time investing in ; if so why?because there will always be more stressful times to come and you may want to save you energy for those instead of wasting it on something you are not able to control at all.
and take comfort in this: there are more happy times ahead. dont consume yourself with the past...by doing that you are taking away any quality time from the present and you may not see the future get here until after the fact then those will be sad memories or no memories at all...
..."don't let the memories of your yesterdays get in the way of what we are now or what we will be tomorrow".

I agree with the first answer. Get girlfriend or boyfriend..depending what your gender is...to make NEW memories. You'll still remember your past ( I certainly do) but the memories in the past won't be so vivid as they are now. Time and God heals wounds. Don't stay on the computer too long. People tend to get depressed this way. And the next time you ask a question and you don't get any answer within 20 minutes, just RE-ASK it! No biggie. You are allowed so many questions per day. Best of luck.

My subject is probable unique. After travelling the country for some years, i ended up some years in the past identifying to purchase some apartment condos in Downtown Philadelphia only 5 blocks from the place i became born. while i became a baby, the community became only above a slum. The housing became deteriorated and the community became only this fringe of risky. We rented a third floor rear place of residing in a development that became erected in 1763 and became in possibility of crumple. My father became provided the development for $5000 and became it down as a bad investment. nicely, very almost 3 quarters of a century later, those colonial properties have been restored. The community is now upscale, the residing house has an historic Society plaque upon its face and it became maximum these days offered 2 years in the past for...$a million,275,500. Dad, what did you do to me? each and each time i'm on the city (I stay in Miami coastline now) I walk previous my birthplace and cry bitter tears! Nah. i can grin because of fact I made my own way interior the international and in spite of the actual undeniable fact that a million and 1 / 4 funds sounds particularly extreme high quality, we can stay without it. regardless of each little thing, i can stay to tell the story Purina Cat Chow; i do no longer choose IAMS. I certainly have super recipes for baked and fried Purina! The handle is 710 Pine highway, Philadelphia, PA in case you're contained regionally and choose to throw a rock in the time of the window for me. only kidding. Whoever owns it is fortunate and blessed. fortunate to be residing on streets the place Ben Franklin, Tom Jefferson and George Washington walked and blessed in that my spirit nevertheless protects people who stay therein.
