Your liver has remarkable re cooperative abilities. This is why a portion of someones liver can be donated for transplant and the organ donor can still go on to live a normal and full life, because the liver regenerates itself. If the problem with your liver is not terribly severe, stopping drinking may alleviate your problem. Educate yourself about liver disease. There are so many good sources on the Internet. Seek the advice of your physician. In most cases there are simple blood test that will show if your liver function is improved once you have stopped drinking. Good luck to you and stay off the boos, life has so much to offer and you don't know what you are missing when drinking, because everything is cloudy and you don't see clearly until you have been sober for a bit.

Liver transplant. Unfortunately, once you damage it there's no fixing it. Only option is to keep it working for as long as you can before it craps out completely. Then you'll have to get a new one.
If you're not up for waiting on the transplant list for several years, there is a procedure which has had some success where half of one person's liver is transplanted into someone else. Both halves grow large enough to carry out the basic functions of a liver, but this has only been done successfully between a mother and a child (mother is the donor, child is the recipient). Is your mother still alive and in good health? Does she have a good working liver? Maybe you should be extra nice to her for the next few years, just in case.

And I'm sure your doctor told you to STOP DRINKING. That is the answer right there. Let your doctor know you have questions of this nature, he would be the best one to answer a serious question like this.
Good Luck
