[Taking this question seriously...]

First, in regards to "sex change" ops...

1. Changing a girl into a boy, with workable physiology, is much more difficult than the reverse and never quite does the job.

2. Far worse, it's extremely destructive to the child.

The original studies done by Money back in the 1970's, where male victims of circumcision accidents were "sculpted" into and raised as girls, ended in devastating failure. The most famous case (that of "David") resulted in the "girl" eventually going back to a male role and having numerous painful surgeries to at least resemble a man as much as possible. He ended up committing suicide a few years ago partly because of Money's "experiment."

Gender is not imprinted by environment; it's actually hard-wired in many ways into the brain. Environment usually impacts how it plays out, but there is discernable predictable gender indentity in very young kids, without coaching from society.

I.e., I strongly strongly advise against any sort of physical tinkering with your child.

--

People can have preferences (boy or girl)... but what's wrong with the daughter you do have? Most parents are tickled pink with ANY kid, no matter the gender. Your girl isn't a thing to be "bought at spec," she's a living breathing human being just like you. Take her for what she is (gloriously female), love her, and help her to become the best woman she can be. Right now, you might have wanted a boy, but I guarantee that spending time with her will melt your heart. Many of the things you wanted to do with your son will be possible to do with her as well. (You might be pleasantly shocked.)

Adoption is arduous, emotionally difficult, and costs a great deal of money ($12-25K, depending on where the child is from). We've adopted, and it took years and commitment. Any decision to adopt should not be based solely on getting to choose gender -- that's a side benefit, not the main reason to adopt a child.

I understand you've invested in boy stuff and you had your heart set on a boy to follow in your footsteps.

I would simply pack that stuff up, enjoy the child you have now, then try again later (or pursue adoption) once you've had some time with your daughter and gotten used to the pressures and pleasures of parenting.

This has to be a joke. It's not a funny joke, but no-one who belongs outside a secure psychiatric ward could seriously pose this question. It works in a limp half-a**ed Chris Morris sort of way, I suppose. People do get very steamed up about remarks like this, but then far from amusing me, that impresses me - people aren't all bad after all eh? So many have very sound good protective instincts...I think that's something to rejoice over rather than articficially activate in order to feel superior at having been able to manipulate people's emotional responses for your own kicks. Which is kind of embarrassingly adolescent. I bet you're thirty-odd, and hate your job, right? Well, in any case, thank you. In an odd way, you've cheered me up.

get a life for **** sake you should love whatever came out. What's the point in ruining that baby's life just because you want a boy. Ever hear of trying again. And by the way once your wife has had the baby she's not pregnant anymore

So disgusting it can only be a joke. So in that spirit, why dont you do a swap. You could find some local spinster with a male puppy whod really love a girl, then you just dress it up in the clothes, take it along to meet your mum and dad and there you go. Might have a problem when it comes to getting him a place in school though.

You are just trying to be funny right? This can't be a real question.

We were banking on another boy, but when at the ultrasound we found out we were having a little girl, litterally, it looked like someone had knocked the wind out of husband . But later that day, when we got home, he left! Came back with pink blankets...5 years later...Gosh how we love having a girl! Which she just came in and smilling at me...got to tend to her now.

As for all the things you bought, returnwhat you can, sleepwear-well she's not going to care at that age ((my girl wore her brother's pj's when she was an infant)) she can wear that.

Enjoy your little Girl !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow you're a fast mover, you wife just had a baby and she's pregnant again? Or is it twins and you're really fast on the uptake, in which case, maybe you should save the stuff for the next kid. Or just dress the girl as a biy and tell her she is one. It's no matter. Who wants to bewpsycholgically normal anyway???

If I understand you correctly, you want a sex change operation for your daughter. I think you should leave your wife and daughter and let them have a good life without you. You must be a real jerk or one short of a 6-pack. You don't deserve a child. What was God thinking. So many people would die for a child and you want to cut yours up. You're sick.

YOUR wife had what YOU gave her...the man is responsible for the sex of the baby. Girls are awesome...I have 2 that are daddy's girls and I wouldn't change a thing. I don't think you'd find a doctor to do it, at least not one I would trust...BUT you're not looking for an answer, just a response.

That is the saddest thing i ever heard,i mean i know men think that having a boy is all that, what happened to as long as its healthy. And you can always try again for a boy,I suggest you wise up and love your daughter when she arrives,or you may loose your wife in the process.Good luck God Bless:O)
