The devil does walk among us, and has success in influencing people to act , think and do evil. He influences anyone who is willing, so his influence includes many people, including those that mock and insult god.
There will be one ultimate servant of Satan, the anti-Christ. Considering current world events inlight of biblical prophesy, he is most likely alive at this time, but has not revealed himself yet. I personally think that it will be an islamic leader who will pretend to want peace but will deceive everyone and make life hell. The anti-christ will come from the ancient roman empire, which includes europe, but also many current countries in the north of africa, and part of the middle east.
