It is variable depending on the kind of cake.

Cake Baking Timetable:
Sponge cake= 45 minutes
Pound cake= one hour.
Fruit cake= 3-4 hours, depending on size.
Cup cakes= a full 30 min.

The size of the cake would make changes on the baking lenght of time. The above timetable applies to the approximate time to a usual standard size of the cake however please take not that such timing applies by using conventional oven.Using microwave oven requires shorter time, please check your user manual.

Depends on the type of cake
http://www.wikihow.com/Bake-a-Cake

As quoted:
Close the oven door, set your timer to the time specified in the recipe and wait. Resist the urge to open the oven door – heat will escape and may cause the cake to fall.
Once the timer goes off, check for doneness by inserting a toothpick, wooden skewer or cake tester into the center of the cake. If it comes out clean or with only a few small crumbs on it, the cake is done. If not, put it back in the oven for another 4-5 minutes.

It depends on the kind of cake and the kind pan you bake it in. Most cakes bake between 40 to 75 minutes.

If you're doing cupcakes, it's much less.

well, it depends on the temperature of your oven.

about 30 or 40 minutes should be enough.

try opening (with care) the door of the oven and inserting a toothpick into the cake. pull it ok. if it is too wet, your cake is not ready yet...

do not raise the tempeture too much, otherwise you will burn your cake outside while it will still be raw inside.
