Don't know what pih is, but high blood pressure is so common during pregnancy. It can be a sign of problems. At 8 months the regular doctors visits would reveal the blood pressure warning signs and doctor should step in with treatment. For me, treatment was delivery of my baby prematurely, but it saved me and my baby. Have you spoken to the doctor? If he hasn't addressed it he isn't keeping your wife and baby safe.

she needs to be monitored by a licensed doctor. making sure to keep all her prenatal appts , if she has done this then he is aware of her conditon and he is keeping track of her BP .
the only way to cure the kigh blood pressure is to give birth . then it will go down . but at 8 months she is not ready at this point . the doctor will continue to watch things if things get to a point where she must deliver because it is too high , the doctor will discuss this with both of you .
resting as much as possible is a good idea , drinking plenty of water , eating high protein foods , and staying away from salt or caffiene which can raise the heart rate or BP.
good luck and congrats !

There is no "cure" for pregnancy related high blood pressure, but there are ways to aleviate it.

1. Have her rest with her feet raised as often as possile.
2. She should stay off her feet (standing) as much as possible.
3. Limit her sodium/salt intake
4. Have her try and do something to de-stress every day- my favorite pregnancy destresser was taking LONG (I'm talking many hours long) warm bubble baths.

Her doctor is obviously monitoring her blood pressure, or you wouldn't know it, right? If the doctor feels it is too high, they'll let you know. They can also tell you different ways to help lower her BP.

It is not too uncommon for blood pressure to go up during pregnancy. However you and your wife should talk to her doctor about this. It is important that they know and they will be able to give you the best answer.
