I have been alone since Novmeber. My kids might be coming back. But I have two jobs.
My first job is at the local news station. I love the work. There is a real future here, with medical, dental, free cable, and much more.
My other job is at Taco Bell. They offer some stuff to managers, but not much. But they are also paying $1.35 more than the station.
Which should I keep? The station is less stressful, but the pay is better at Taco Bell... I get over 40 hours at the station, and 30-36 at Taco Bell.
Please help me... I will be a single mom.
I have three wonderful kids and I want the best for them...

News Station. Liking what you is 95% of it.

The news station is your best choice. There is a future there. Also, your kids will be proud of you with that job. They will like saying their mom has a "professional" job, as to a fast food place that most anyone can work. The Taco Bell is a good place, but it doesn't carry the prestige that the other job has. Also, you will have some variety in your life and that helps keep a job from being boring. It is very important to love your job. You said it all when you made that statement. $1.35 is more at Taco Bell, but I doubt if it has the financial potential of the news station. With the kids coming, be sure to take time for yourself. This is very important. Three kids are three different people with three different needs, and one always left out.
Good luck.

I'd stay with the station, most definitely. They are the ones who offer you the benefits, and the extra pay from Taco Bell most likely wouldn't cover the cost of insurance if you had to get it through somewhere other than work. And since you may have your kids with you, the benefits are extremely more important than a little extra pay. Plus, like you said, the station also offers more hours, as most fast food places don't hire "full time" employees. You also know you have more of a future at the station. It's a no-brainer! Hope we encourage you to do the right thing. Good luck!

I say keep the job at the news station, because of the medical benefits. The only way real reason for you to actually be confused is if Taco Bell also gave medical benefits. If Taco Bell does give these benefits then diffently choose Taco Bell. At Taco Bell your raises will come much quicker and probably higher. With out the medical benefits the raises are not going to matter, because that is where your raises will go.

This is a very easy question to answer. If the station offers all that, and you love it...definitely make it your future. Your kids are going to need stability and this job offers that tenfold over the Taco Bell. The best for your kids is having a mom who has medical and dental benefits and a job with a solid future. Jobs at Taco Bell and such places are a dime a dozen, and offer nothing except a quick buck and lots of stress. Your kids don't need a worn out mommy when she gets home from work.

haha i just quit taco bell after 9 years! i would definately quit the taco bell job, the raises suck if you are just a regular employee the most you can make is $8, managers $10. The stress is not worth it! I took a $2.10 pay cut to leave there. Just cut back on expenses until you can make more at the station, or i'm sure you could stay at taco bell and just work one day a week to make up the difference if you are a good employee they are always willing to do anything to keep you for when you are available. Talk to your manager about it, we let people stay on one day a week many times!

i would go with the station if there is more a future there then thats where i would stay. i dunno if your kids are gone due to court order but if so i would think the job at the station with medical and dental insurence would be more appealing to a judge allowing you to have your kids. or maybe you could just keep both jobs so you can have some extra cash. if not talk to someone at the station about the possiblity of geting somewhat of a raise. i do know here in western ohio a judge would much rather see a mother have a job somepalce where there is a strong future rather then higher pay that doesnt offer much in the way of a real future.

Keep the job at the station. Ditch Taco Hell. Seriously. The benefits at the station can by far outweigh the higher pay at the other in the long run. You will eventually move up at the station and get raises. Taco Hell doesn't have much room for advancement. Good luck to you.

i would definately stay with the station . you have a benifit package there which is great , and it being less stressful would make me want to choose that job .
fast food is horrible , i was a manager a long time ago for a food place and seemed to never be going anywhere with it . not to mention the stress . customers can be pretty rude and down right mean . people never seemed to show up for their shifts , drama of some sort was always there .
i think the station has much more to offer you in the long run .
good luck

Keep the job at the station, it is more stable. You stand more of a chance of still working at the station a year from now than you do with Taco Hell no matter how much they pay you.
