Salut! Ca va? hahahaha....no Americans don't hate you! And if you run into rude people it's NOT you, it's that they are rude to everyone and are just ignorant. No, it's kind of like, people were making up this big riff between the two countries, but in reality most Americans (I believe) judge people one at time. Actually, most people that I know find the French extremely charming and sexy... just by virtue of the lovely accent and great manners you guys have. Anyway, please don't worry. Americia will love you....just be yourself and if you get too worried, just say you are from Canada (how about Montreal?...lol). Have a great time!! *big hug from an American who loves the French*

I'm filipino-american married to a french man. We live in New Jersey about an hour and a half from New York City. There are a lot of french people in NJ/NYC! There's also a lot of french people in California as well! Instead of going to Los Angeles, you can travel to San Francisco because there's a lot of french there too! Alot of american women love the french! So there shouldn't be a problem. You won't get insulted by someone, unless you insult them first, this goes for all cultures! Don't be paranoid! You'll be fine.

Funny I'm going to France in a week and a half.... and I'm afraid the French hate Americans... Luckily I look Latin and speak Spanish so don't plan in asking direction in English But I am taking French classes but only have learned simple words. But No... don't think the majority of Americans hate the French it just happens to be that the Vocal haters tend to be heard... Do the French Hate Americans?

There is some notion that Americans hate the French, what nonsense. Go, have a great time, try some of that wonderful language on LA women, they love it. There is rudeness everywhere in the world, don't buy into that hate-the-French stuff, its just the media nuts who perpetuate it. Bon chance.

People all over the world have negative feelings about the rude, pompous French, not just Americans. Right now, though, we hate the politics of your country more so than we hate your people. If you come here and are polite and friendly and bathe i think you will find a warm welcome. besides LA tends to be a liberal city and they will definitely be less critical of the French. If you are in LA, New York or Washington DC you will be surrounded by liberals who thik like the French.

I'm from Florida, not LA. But you wouldn't have any trouble where I am at. I live in a friendly area and there are many people who make up the population of America who love to meet new people. Especially from other countries. there are some people who are hard on foreigners, but it's not like the whole of America is on you. Just be nice and polite and they should just treat you as a person, even if they are angry with Frenchmen.

We don't hate French people. We hate how you complain about America... all the time. If you are nice and friendly when you come here I really don;t think you will have a problem.

I wouldnt say we hate the French, just not very happy with their current political position. Keep your conversations away from politics and religion and you'll be fine. Of course thats good advice to anyone, not just Frenchmen.
