There were NO Christians while Jesus was alive. Not even Jesus. Jesus did not become Christ until He DIED on the cross to fulfill the prophecy. Judas did give Jesus to the Romans, and Jesus would have never been crucified and never could have fulfilled the prophecy if he didn't. So if anything Judas set the wheels in motion to let Jesus become Christ.

So THE Jews didn't betray US............. A Jew betrayed Jesus.

Jesus forgave Judas, you should too.

Actually according to Christian theology Jesus came to be killed as a sacrifice. Secondly Judas might have been born a Jew but as he accepted Jesus he became a Christian not a Jew. Finally there is no proof any of this happened or that these people even existed.

True, Judas was a Jew. True, he gave Christ to the Romans.

The Jews betrayed us? False.

Y'see, the actions of a select group of people do not necessarily reflect the desires of the group as a whole.

Understand that the faith of Judaism centers around the teachings of a Rabbi. Different Rabbis have different interpretations and teaching--sometimes referred to as a "yoke."

Jesus, when on earth, was a travelling Rabbi. He traveled to teach to the Jews, and He gathered quite a following.

During the days around the Crucifixion, one group of the Jewish faith that clung to the teachings of a selected group of Rabbis opposed what Christ taught so much that the would regularly conspire to "trick Christ" into breaking the law.

Essentially, it was one group of Jews betraying another group of Jews. Throw in the mix of the Roman government and one can hardly blame all those who are Jewish for the Crucifixion.

Add to that, the "us" called "Christians" really didn't exist--we were essentially the Jews that followed the yoke of Jesus the Rabbi. And certainly the "us" of "gentile Christians" definitely did not exist yet. Therefore, we couldn't have been "betrayed" at all.

False. On the basis
Jesus was Jewish, God claimed the Jews as the chosen people. As Christians are the gentiles in the bible
Judas did betray Jesus and if you over simplify it you could say a Christian turned Jesus over to the Romans too.

Are you a Jew? Judas (a jew) betrayed Christ (a jew). So if you're saying that Judas betrayed "us" then you must be a Jew as well. Otherwise he didn't betray "us".

You've got some terrible logic going here. Using your train of thought:

Ted Bundy was an American?? Right or wrong? He killed many girls right or wrong? Americans betrayed us?

Your statement is clearly inaccurate and false.

Jesus wasn't a Christian. That term literally means follower of Christ. Last time I checked, it's awfully hard to follow yourself. ;)

Judas was a Jew, Jesus was a Jew, and all the other apostles were Jews as well. Like other answerers have said, there was no 'us' at the time (us referring to Christians as we think of them today) so there was nobody betrayed but Jesus himself.

Judas, as far as we know, was as Jewish as the rest of the 12...y'know, the honorable ones who went off to spread the word and CREATE the Christian faith. Jesus was in absolutely no sense a Christian - as far as we know, he never used the word, let alone espoused it. Christianity was not invented by Christ, it was cobbled together over the next couple of hundred years and ratified at the Council of Nicaea. "The jews" betrayed nobody. So I guess that would be True, True-ish (identified, not gave), False, for those keeping score.

Judas was a Jew? True
He gave Christ to the romans? True (although still debated by some people)
The Jews betrayed us: Umm, ARE YOU STUPID?! If you are trying to say that the jews betrayed jesus and "us" meaning that you are trying to be prejudiced against jews.... JESUS WAS A JEW!

And if you're just putting in a general question that jwes betray "us" whoever "us" is - non-jews presumable) then you're just bloody dumb.

Yes, Judas was a Jew, yes he gave Christ to the Romans, but that doesn't mean that the Jews betrayed us, during those times, certain people didn't like what Jesus was doing. Thus they couldv'e asked Judas to sell him to them. (in which they pay Judas to give Jesus to them.)
