I, my wife and three kids (16, 11 & 11) have been vacationing in Jamaica every year since May 2000. We fell in love with this beautiful tropical island from the first time we set foot there and decided that would be our annual vacation spot. I have conferred with friends and colleagues who have traveled to other Caribbean islands and they admit that Jamaica was the best of them all. Yes there is poverty in some areas but for the most places you go the scenery is so lush and pretty and the people are extremely nice and welcoming.

I have traveled in Kingston, Portland, Ocho Rios, Montego Bay and Negril and the best place we found to stay was Point Village in Negril. It boasts the most picturesque sunset and it is a great family resort. Another suggestion is FDR Pebbles in Trelawny which is another family resort with ample teen activities.

Both resorts are beachfront properties with Point Village having a slight bigger beach and it is also right next to the seven-mile beach stretch.

Holiday Inn in Montego Bay is also a great family resort that I stayed at and if you are not big on the bus transfers then this is the ideal spot with about a fifteen minutes ride from the airport. FDR Pebbles is about forty minutes from the airport and Point Village is about an hour and fifteen minutes (used to be two hours but there is a new wider road now).

Check it out and give me a feedback if you do go!

Have a nice family trip.. :-D

Hi!

You may consider Puerto Rico as a good choice. 1st. you need no passport due P.R. is part of the U.S.A. 2ND. even when the 1st. language of the island is Spanish, English is the 2nd. official language, so you'll have no problem with language. Something else is that prices in the island are not too bad, for example at Isla Verde, this is a touristic area, I saw in the newspaper an offer of one of the hotel in here the special of $79.99the night minimum 2 nights 3 days, $80.00 in tickets to eat, a welcome drink and a couple of other things.
Something else is that right now you don't pay taxes for buying and after November you only will pay 7% of taxes, New York I believe is 14%. For more info. chat in "Bienvenidos.com" Perhaps for you teens you'll find a lot of places to take them like jet ski rental, hiking, snorkeling, scuba diving, etc.

I would also recommend a cruise. You can sail out of florida, enjoy meals fit for a king, free entertainment on board the ships in the evening, and there's plenty for the kids to do as well! Once at the various ports of call, they have different land excursions, or just take a lazy day at the beach. You really can't beat the value for the price in my opinion.

If you're watching for an all-inclusive, Beaches Boscobel in Jamaica is the location to move for you. It has first-rate routine for everybody, and I'm lovely certain they have got reunion offers for huge organizations. Activities comprise dance events, snorkeling, crusing, scuba diving, water slides, pool bars, video games arcades, and plenty of extra, plus lots of day journeys to surrounding points of interest similar to zip lining via the jungle or swimming with dolphins. If you wish some thing somewhat extra low key and less expensive, Franklin D. Resort in Runaway Bay Jamaica is a top notch loved ones motel due to the fact its plenty extra near knit. I am Jamaican, and I were to either one of those areas numerous instances. FDR may be very stress-free, however it is usually almost the encompassing points of interest I stated above. It could also be all-inclusive.
