The majority of people simply believe what they are told, follow the company line, let others think for them. They do not own the position they hold, but hold it for others. They would rather not rock the boat of their peers. They have not seriously thought through and struggled to come to a sensible conclusion about their beliefs. If they would they would see the common sense of a Biblical world view.

Because they are fools. They cant think on their own or they dont want to use their brain and think. These kind of people can never become leaders or owners in their life. They will die as employees (followers)...!!!

Let's see:

"The majority of people..." in America are Christian.
"...simply believe what they are told, follow the company line, let others think for them. They do not own the position they hold, but hold it for others. They would rather not rock the boat of their peers. They have not seriously thought through and struggled to come to a sensible conclusion about their beliefs."

So far so good.

"If they would they would see the common sense of a Biblical world view."

So the majority of people, Christians, should spend more time thinking so they can become...er...Christian?

"Why do so many people simply believe what they are told?"

Perhaps that has to do with the fact that Christians, the "majority of the people", begin the indoctrination process as children in Sunday School, church, amongst Christians who preach Christianity to impressionable children...etc. As Hitler demonstrated, you can also raise children to be good Nazis. So what can we learn from this: children can be taught anything and will believe it because their lack of experience with humanity leaves them vulnerable to whatever doctrine you want them to learn, regardless of whether it makes sense or not. Children also believe in Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, and the Easter Bunny.

I've always found those who think for themselves tend to challenge what they hear, question those in authority, demand answers that make sense. The Church has never been very strong on this way of thinking.

For example, care to justify II Kings 2: 23-24? Using two bears to tear apart 42 children is fair punishment for kids calling someone "baldy"? Does this sound like "the common sense of a Biblical world view" to you?

Some people wander through their lives mercifully free from the ravages of intelligence, and are more than content to follow. Those of us cursed with the burden of intellect see the world in a far dimmer light, and therefore strive to improve it by leading others less capable. Society will always be this way. This is my own opinion, i don`t expect it to be the standard view.

I used to follow others because everyone in my church used to think this one family was so perfect. So I thought I should just try to be like them. Finally someone challenged me and I realized that I only believed certain things to look good to others. I no longer feel that way even though it has made some ppl think less of me. My standards are considered conservative by most but the way I used to be makes me think of the Pharisees now.

I am not a Christian but I share the same question. Even as a ordinary person I would like to be known according to my own statements not to the gosubs and I think every boy shoyld have right to be evaluated according to their own itroduction One of most current example of this is comments on Islam and Muslims if some people say "Islam offer terrorism", some other believe them without investigation . We should ask qestions to Muslims and without questioning how we can know what is true.WHAT IF, PEOEPLE MAKING STATEMENTS HAVE BIASES OR PREJUDICES ABOUT THE SUBJECT THAT THEY COMMENT ON?

I really can't believe you!

You just asked a question about Non-Christians not following your way... And then you spout some crap about blindly following!

That is what you are doing!

Do you have any idea where you are coming from? Do you even care what other opinions are? I think not!

I think you are just a rubber stamp that keeps on making copies!

Good luck!

How dangerous the world would be if people would think for themselves.

Commercials would be outlawed
Politicians would be thrown out of office
Many wars would be stopped.

Maybe we should stop and think about that.

its simple, when people are ignorant, they can only count on what others say
when people lack information they do not know their stance on a matter, so they just mimic others
