I would feel sad, but would try to find a way to see that he gets a great trainer where he is going, go and meet and interview as many as you can. Help him pick a new one and still be there for him if he needs to comeback to you. Is said fighter moving to a nearby State or ac cross the country?

a think that if that is the case you are talking he needs to study cuse fighting, wont asure him nothing he can get an injirie and dont fight any more he just need to go study to have a future that is real life its tough you cannot always do wath you want that would be my advice to the kid and my heart would be broken because a good talent is a good talent and peronaly a have been in that position my self but life its tough you cannot blind yourself looking for something that inst 100 percent sure studies are real that wath he have to do but he can still do waht he likes on his free time

I would be sure to find him another trainer at his school that will help him grow. The right trainer can help as much as the wrong trainer can hurt.

i completely agree w/ashleywix..

in martial arts, it's hard to find that one student that can actually teach you something, i'd say be happy that you were able to witness such exquisit sportsmanship, humility and humanity.. sometimes as martial artists we forget what martial arts is really about.. it's nice to find someone with enough heart to remind us..

I'd feel proud that our paths had crossed and I had helped such an outstanding individual on his path.
