Yes, on the first day back to school my husband and I go out to eat and shopping. We even do with the kids we have left at home. This year we will only have our 2 year old in tow. We go out to breakfast, then shopping, and we go to out to eat lunch and then we come home, and I do some cleaning up. And by that time it is time for the bus to be home with the kids.
The second day fo school is when I really spend time on cleaning up my house.

My children are not yet old enough for school, but my mom (who was a stay at home mom for most of my early childhood) would always spend the better part of the first day of school writing out Christmas cards! LOL It was a bit of a bummer when she started working when I was a bit older and her "tradition" died.

CHA!! I used to look forward to it beginning in June! We would meet at school and go to breakfast at the beach and then get pedicures! Sounds very decadent, but it was the only day I would ever take off work to be with my girlfriends...

Absolutely not! After having the entire summer with them, i miss them like crazy. Now a few weeks into school, that's another story. lol

We used to and then we had our 3rd child... but we intend to do it again when he starts school Sept of 2007... We will have the morning to ourselves...

go for it as long as your back before they get home. what will it hurt.
