An L1 dependent is an L2. Neither the spouse nor any child may accept employment unless he or she has been granted employment authorization.

U'll have to check that with the rules of that particular country. some countries allow the dependent spouse to work legally in the country,.. but some like US do not allow that. try searching about this topic on google.
