Well, unfortunatly if you are a true christians who abides by the teachings of Christ.
Marriage is a bond that is only broken if the following happens;
1- Death
2- Cheating
3- changing your religion
so you can not get a divorce if he beats you, but yes you can if he cheats and you can prove it.

It seem to me that physical, sexual, or severe emotional abuse would be a sufficient cause for divorce. So, can you I cannot answer that question. Ultimately, that is between you, your spouse, and most importantly God. The only advice I can give is for you to pray to God for wisdom in regards to what He would have you do (James 1:5). Pray with an open mind, and genuinely ask the Lord to place His desires on your heart (Psalm 37:4). Seek the Lord’s will (Proverbs 3:5-6) and follow His leading. That is the best advice I can give. In this issue, we know two things for sure. (1) Again, God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16). (2) God is merciful and forgiving. Each and every divorce is a result of sin, either on the part of one spouse or both spouses. Does God forgive divorce? Absolutely! Divorce is no less forgivable that any other sin. Forgiveness of all sins is available through faith in Jesus Christ (Matthew 26:28; Ephesians 1:7). If God forgives the sin of divorce, does that mean you are free to remarry? Not necessarily. God sometimes calls people to remain single (1 Corinthians 7:7-8). Being single should not be looked at as a curse or punishment, but rather as an opportunity to serve God more wholeheartedly (1 Corinthians 7:32-36). God’s Word does tell us, though, that it is better to marry than to burn with passion (1 Corinthians 7:9). Perhaps this sometimes applies to remarriage after a divorce.

It is not God's will that you get a divorce for any reason, because he doesn't want either of you to give the other a reason for divorce.
However, God does allow divorce, but once you do, you are committing adultery if you remarry.
This is to make people very careful to choose wisely the person they are to be joined with. If this guy is beating you, than you chose very unwisely. Would you have been so quick to marry him if you clearly understood that he was your only chance at marriage? Probably not.
In any case, it is not God's will for you to be beat up by anyone, so consider your future and do what you must.

I don't know why you think with Christianity you can not get a divorce if you are being abused. Perhaps in some churches (eg; Catholic) it is frowned upon but it certainly has nothing to do with being a Christian. If you feel it does, there is nothing in Christianity that says you can't call the police and press charges for assault and battery! Be true to yourself (take care of yourself) sweetie and in doing so you are being true to God! Yes, Christianity is fair, you just have a distorted perception. Take care and be safe!

What religion is this? I live in a Western country and have a lot of education about various Christian religions. I don't know of any that say you can't divorce because of wife beating. Some might encourage you both to have counselling but they don't say you can't divorce for this reason.

I am not bashing Christianity since I am a born again Christian and as a Man I feel no one has any right to hit a lady for any reason. I also believe that if a man hits a women she has the right to divorce him.

If your husband is abusive, divorce him immediately.
Ultimately, you can seek God's forgiveness if you feel that divorce goes against Christian morals - and that's what makes Christianity fair. God's forgiveness is the one thing people forget about all the time, yet it's what balances everything out.

If you are a true Christian, you are supposed to be with each other (you know that oath that people take in church when they get married and then conveniently forget). You can't pick and choose what parts you would like to follow from the Bible. That is why most of the religious people are hypocrites.

Where did you ever get that idea from?????
Unless you have another marriage partner waiting for you, you can obtain a legal separation. Better still, see your clergyman first and discuss your situation, if you are in not agreement with what he tells you and you still want out of the marriage, then see a lawyer!
