ok one of the best dogs you can get would have to be a Pomeranian because they are small and great to play with and you dont have to feed them as much as a big dog so you save money on food. plus they are soooooo cute.

hope this helps

If you don't care about it being purebred, then a shelter dog would make a wonderful addition to your family. Shelter dogs are usually very healthy animals because they have more genetic diversity, and so are not as prone to some of the breed-specific conditions some pure-bred dogs are prone to. If you are interested in a pure-bred dog, I suggest visiting the AKC website. There you can find information on all the different breeds, and there are tools to help you decide which breed is best for you! Do your research, become informed, and then you will pick a friend that fits your lifestyle and will truly be your best friend!

If you or a family member has allergies then I'd recommend a mixed poodle breed (aka: designer dog).

1. Schoodle
2. Labrodoodle
3. Yorkipoo
4. Maltipoo

* Otherwise personnally I'd go to a shelter or check out PetSmart on adoption days to get a really neat puppy.

Get a small dog if you live in the city-big dogs need a lot of space to run off all their energy. If you work all day and are away a great deal-buy two dogs. They can keep each other occupied while you're away. Excellent kinds of small dogs with children are: cocker spaniels, poodles, papillons, shelties. (Mixes of any of these breeds are less hyper and less expensive than purebreds.)Big dogs that are excellent with children are: collies, labs, Great Danes, retreivers. Good luck-if possible, get one from an animal shelter-they'll be loyal to you forever for saving their lifves.

Depends on your lifestyle and your surroundings. Each dog has a different personality and you can do a little research and find out which one will best fit into your life. Some are more playful, some more relaxed. Make sure to get a pet that can keep up with you and/or one that you can keep up with. Good luck

It all depends on your life style - as dogs need attention - I find small dogs pack as big as punch in personality with half the poop! My favorite so far is a toy maltese. I have even stuck him in my shirt and taken him to a movie...If you leave your dog at home alone, think about how much room he has to run and bark. Always, Always consider a companion if you are not home. Dogs are 100X more social than cats. they are needy but loving, loving animals

Research the breeds that appeal to you and find out which best suits your lifestyle - activity, grooming, good with children, etc. Then watch for that breed at a shelter or on www.petfinders.org
