He needs to see a doctor today! I have no idea on his health conditions normally but severe leg cramps and passing out are not good. It could be very low potassium and causing heart arrythmias as well as cramping. The passing out is serious, if his heart didn't pump properly and didn't provide enough blood to the brain it could have killed him. It could happen again and he wouldn't be okay afterwards this one is for the docs take him to an ER and get checked out, ASAP

Is he diabetic? My dad is and this happens to him all the time. His potassium is low. My dad has never fainted though. Fainting is a way for the body to cope with stress. If this has never happened before perhaps your dads body didn't know what to do so it fainted in order to reset the pain sensors. I would call the DR. because he fainted.

This oftentimes happens with the aid of fact a individual is dehydrated or with the aid of fact the guy quickly depleted magnesium in the muscular tissues with the aid of over-use. Boosting fluids and stretching are oftentimes sufficient to stop this, yet sometimes a magnesium supplement at bedtime is mandatory. Magnesium is the electrolyte this is mandatory to make muscular tissues relax. many people mistakenly characteristic this situation to a shortage of potassium, which isn't genuine - potassium is mandatory for muscular tissues to contract.
