see what programs are hoging all your memory, and then stop them, also try typing "msconfig" in the run box, and stop things at startup that you dont need

1) Check to see how much free space you have on your hard drive. Virtual memory is actually space on your hard drive used to store information when the PCs real memory gets overloaded. If your hard drive has less then 10% of its space free (1 gig minimum), then it is time to do some hard drive cleaning.

2) Add more real RAM memory, so that the memory will not overload as quickly.

3) You may reduce memory usage by turning off programs running in the background. The fewer thing preloading, the more memory you have available to run programs
Run the msconfig utility. Go to Start, then Run and type in: msconfig
Go to the startup tab
You will see a list of all the programs that are loaded when your computer starts up. Uncheck any that you do not have to have. (Usually you can uncheck them all). If you decide you to need one, you can go back and recheck it.

Finally, if the first three do not work...
Adjust the size of the swap file. Start button > Settings > Control Panel > Click the System icon
Go to the Advanced tab
Under Performance, click on the Settings button
Click on the Advanced tab
Under Virtual memory click on the Change button
You will have a choose between "Custom size", "System managed" or "No paging file"
You can either increase the Initial and Maximum sizes of the custom file (allow Windows to use more of your hard drive for Virtual Memory before reporting it is low). Or you can switch to "System managed" which allows Windows to make the file whatever size it needs. (However when system manged, you may still get a popup informing you that it is going to increase the file size if you go beyond the default swap file size)
